Shari and Bart,
Thanks so much for representing the best that the West Coast teams have to offer!!!
Heck...just over a year ago, people all over the country thought our dogs were way behind the curve...event complaining about the qualifying for GOG in the Western Region being easily the weakest.
Well, with dogs like Gunner, Nevada, and others the West Coast is firmly planted as one of the greatest dog jumping areas anywhere.
Congrats everyone!

Congrats to all the WC handlers and their dogs!!!!
Bart and Gunner
Shari and Nevada
Todd and Gabe
Rob and Sisko
All four really put on a GREAT showing with their dogs! And having Cera there with camera in hand was the best! I can't wait to see some of the shots that she got!
As you would expect from your WC handlers--they were all great competitors and had great sportsmanship--even when a few of them were being snubbed and picked on quite publically from a few of the other competitors. (just wanted to add in that it was only a very few people--all the other competitors and support were great and treated the WC wonderfully). They were a great showing of professionalism and support for the sport and the other handlers. They definitely made ALL of you West Coast people proud.
Top 4 turned out to be West Coast vs. East Coast! I love my Mid-West folks, but it was an amazing jump off! Pretty darn cool! I'm sure they have plenty of stories to share with all of you!
I was glad to have them in WI! Can they all stay? :D

Wow, that was so much fun to watchm you all should have been there. I'm not sure who jumped higher off the dock was it little gunner or was it Bart after little gunner hit that 25.03 footer. Bart was floating off the surface of the dock I really think higher than Gunner flew :D . Yes Bart you came in 3rd overall but you only lost 2nd I think by 3 inches and well Country is just off the map :D Sheri & Nevada dang girl she gave it her best shot and coming up in 3rd & 4th in a field of dogs that you were up against was so awsome to see. It was too bad that the dock surface wasn't what Sisko was used to and well Todd if Gabe hadn't left 8 feet before the end of the dock you would have been right up there too. Yes 8 feet, dang I was looking at the photo's and well for sure he had the distance just not the timing this time around but it's always great to watch that little guy fly. You all should have seen the cute lion haircut that Todd gave him before the last chance jump on Sunday he looked great and was really amped up just left a tad early.
Having all the West Coast Gang and lots of the rest of the competitors wearing Chase's T all weekend was so nice to see. Chase was with them all and will always be with us in spirit always flying high and helping her flying friends get that extra inch when they least expect it.
Love ya all and hope to see you on the docks again soon.....cera

AAAH! damn was hoping to pass the hug on to you personally this weekend.
Rob - you around to let us all know how Sisko is? Anna told me that many dogs took some really scary looking jumps due to the dock.
Give Gunner a big hug for me and again - nice job on Worlds!

First I want to say congratulations to Bart & Gunner, Shari & Nevada for giving the best performance they could under the circumstances.
I also would like to thank everyone who supported us out in Wisconsin.
Sisko is doing better after his nasty spills off of the dock. I have been working on getting him back to health with some professional help.
I will be releasing a statement soon about the facts of what happened.
To Cera, It was my honor for you to jump Sisko.
Again thank to all. We will be seeing everybody soon.

For those of you that did not see Sisko's backward flip it is on the photo link of the Worlds. I gasped when I saw it! MickeyD has had some slightly backward flips but nothing to that extent. So I know that awful feeling. Last time I talked to Rob Siskp was ok and I sure hope that is still the case. Keep us posted Rob and we can hardly wait until we see you in Auburn next month. For those of you who do not know Laura Pinnick has resigned from the dog park and we will no longer be having her assist at our events in Auburn. We are looking for volunteers to assist with wrangeling, set-up and breakdown. I know Urs has volunteered if anyone else is willing to help let me know. Bart, I guess a dog house would be a step up from the curb   Hope to see a lot of family/friends this weekend at Mel Cottons.

I did see that picture of Sisko upside-down; it looks pretty wild! That was actually the second time that Sisko flipped. I was there to see the first one and he actually flipped a complete circle and went in nose first! I've seen dogs slip and flip themselves a bit--but I've never seen that! It was crazy looking--it almost looked like a planned diving trick. Crazy and a bit scary for me to watch. Sometimes that happens not because a dog "slips" on the dock but because they go to plant those back paws and push hard--but then there's no dock and they push down on air and the force of that completely flips them in the air. I've seen it frame by frame on the computer--it's crazy to watch. I'm not sure which happened to Sisko because I really wasn't watch his takeoff point--I wonder if the camera got any of those shots? Regardless, I hope that Sisko is doing much better and having good performances at work this week! Barnyard--you'll keep us updated, right? :) I hope so!
Auburn sounds like a blast! Too bad it's 30+ hours from Wisconsin! Have fun this weekend and good luck to MickeyD for the weekend. Sit. Stay. Sit. Stay.
If Melissa is there...I want to see Bubbles pushing that 17+ mark! 8)

Hi Amanda:
At our June event here in Auburn MickeyD did one of the back flips and the photographer from the Auburn Journal got it frame by frame. Jim and I have studied that and wondered if it was because Jim threw the "birdie" too high. I didn't see the take-off so I don't know if that had anything to do with it. MickeyD also did this in Redding, Rob was there and saw it. I was so freaked out that I pulled him out of the competition but Tony said NO..jump him for Jim's confidence and the dogs....TONY WAS RIGHT!  It is very frightening to watch. So Amanda I have a solution to your 30 hour drive....just move here! We hope to see you soon.

Flipping Dogs...I have seen it too many times myself Amanda. Just like you said, it is normally when the dog misses the end and pushes down on nothing that they flip like that. It happened to Sixx at the 2004 Nationals, it happened to Ziler's Gunner at Cynosports, happened to a GSP at the Big K a couple years back, etc. It certainly is scary looking when it happens. Looking at it on the frame by frame on the computer usually tells all, and it normally is caused by missing the end of the dock by a fraction and jumping off the dog's lower leg as opposed to their foot. Crazy looking when a dog goes in upside down.
All the best Sisko...
