So I see that in Sonoma we're going to have the chance to really have some fun with the Team Jump being offered on Saturday and Sunday July 26th & 27th!

I've got 4 dogs looking for teammates - yes, it would be easy just to pair them with themselves, but what fun is that! Any takers on teaming up w/Gunn, Aries, Vandal or Twizzy? I believe we will be there Saturday only as we have Flyball on Sunday morning, but we may be able to come up on Sunday after practice, still working this out!

Team Jumps - We are excited to bring a new game to you! You can win money even if your dog doesn't jump the farthest! In the team jump, you will be put into teams of 3. You may request your team, or ask to be placed on a team. A handler may only handle one dog on a given team (however a handler may be on multiple teams with different dogs). A dog may only be on a single team. Each team member will take two competition jumps. Any "No Jump" score causes a team to be ineligible for placements. No "Passing" is allowed. Before the start of the wave, all teams will be asked to present their "guess" at their teams total combined jump scores (including all 6 jumps). Teams will then be placed according to how close their guess is to the sum of their actual combined jump scores. Each team member will pay the $20 wave entry fee. 50% the wave entry fees from this wave will go to payout the winners. 1st place gets 60%, 2nd place gets 30%, 3rd place gets 10%. In the event of a tie for any of the first 3 places, we will do a single jump team jump off - the team with the guess closest to the combined score of the 3 jumps will win the tie. All jumps from this wave also count towards qualifying for the finals and also for rankings and titles. Team jump waves may NOT be paid for with Splash Bucks.

That sounds like fun! Is that going to be something we'll see at other events too??

We're going to see how it goes at this event and have also scheduled it for the 2 week long boise event.

If it goes well, then yes - we'll be seeing it more!!

Thanks Lisa! We'll find someone to pair up w/Twizzy...I have a friend's dog going w/me this weekend - maybe I'll have to pair the two bullies up!

We're looking forward to this coming weekend! Sounds like a few BADD members will be making the trek - and I see Miss Tinka is coming too!

Tonka & I went Tuesday & Wednesday, and we plan on going back this weekend. There was not very many dogs that attendended, but there was some local's that brought their dogs out to try it out and they did GREAT! Since there was not that many dogs, I took advantage of it, and worked with Tonka's sit-stay on the dock about 3 poles back and then release her, she is doing good with it, a work in progress ::smiles::

In the last wave on Wednesday, Tonka beat her Personal Best. She is now at 7.11 ... YAYYYYYYY!!! But since it was the 3rd jump of the wave it didnt count to her score (Randy & Tony are the witnesses to her Jump) ...

Here are a few pictures I took ... I hope you all enjoy ~ Deb & Tonka

PS: This event is a lot easier to get to than the Vallejo Event.

Congrats on the new pb - I'm sure Tonka will repeat in the next few days when you can make it back!

Great pics - I love that it is on grass! Question - set up wise, the cars along the bottom, is that where we park? Do we have access to our cars like that? Wondering if I need to bring a canopy, going to be shlepping 5 kennels and 3 dogs w/me in the morning and want to plan accordingly....

Hey Urs,
I thought it said we had to park outside (said we could unload stuff through carnival gate) then go park. I would like to know as well if were allowed to park inside as that makes it much easier. Also, will there be shade for the dogs? Thanks

Just got off the phone with Tony who is at the site (I'll be coming up on Saturday).

You can unload your stuff at the gate which is about 50 yards from the splash dogs area, and then go park in the parking lot.

Those cars in the picture are NOT where splash dogs participants are parking.

The cars you see are not SplashDog parking. The gate you are able to unload is off to the right of the picture (Gate 6), and is not that far from the SplashDog area. When I was there some people where able to drive in and unload, but then had to park across the street in the "Event Parking". It took me all of 5 minutes at the most to walk from my car to the gate, and maybe a minute to walk from the gate to the pool. The people working at the gate are very pleasent I want to add ...
Taking the picture Im standing up on the hill, that is where the Kennels go, and it is very shaded by tons of trees. It also has picnic tables and bathrooms there so you do not have to go to far. One thing I thought was nice, there is Security for that area as well.
Urs, if you are going to have your dogs down by the splashdog stand by the pool, then yes you might want to bring your canopy. Because the early day sun shines down there. But if you have them up on the hill, you wouldnt need it. Hope to see you this weekend ~ Deb & Tonka

Thanks Deb! We've got the car packed, except for ourselves and the dogs. Looking forward to tomorrow! I believe that Red Alert and Janette are going to try and make it out as well!
