I hate to say it but Chief is a very sick dog. Thank god it's not cancer but a very severe as yet completely undiagnosed possible thyroid issue with inoperable tumors. I have an awesome vet with an unlimited line of credit but his jumping future is very uncertain. He is basically healthy with a little weight loss and anemia but we're dealing with it. If we can we will try to jump at the Art Bark Fest just to absorb all the good vibes. Every day is a test that we seem to pass, sometimes just barely but we do. The couple of days waiting for the biopsy result were pure hell and caused a temporary liquor and beer shortage in the state. Chief is tougher than me so don't worry and we'll keep you updated. Pete,
We're all so sorry to hear about Chief. He's a great dog and having been able to watch the Pete/Chief team on the dock over the years has been an inspiration to us.
Good thoughts go out to him and you from all of us in So. Cal. We sure hope to see you on the dock in the near future!

Oh Pooh.... You and Chief are one of the first teams I met in dock diving. Loved your show on the dock and were a big inspiration to me. I never hear a bird whistle without thinking of you. My thoughts and prayers are with you that Chief gets well soon and can once again grace the dock diving stage.

Chief and Pete, You two will always hold a special place in my and Tinka's heart. You were one of no wait... you were the FIRST person to give me some tips on getting Tinka to go up more than out. That was at Pittsburg. Only the 2nd jump we had ever been to, people were nice but you went out of your way to talk to us and I felt like I had made my first "jumping" friend. So needless to say Tinka and I will put in a bunch of big prayers for the two of you.
Always a friend, Suzy and Tinka.
