Great story Sandra!
Man, I gotta say those pics are scary, reminds me of the picture that was posted on the DD site of Sisco upside down?
When Mickey D did this, how did it happen? Did he miss the end of the dock? Did he just slip? and is he ok? Did he have dead tail at all this weekend?
I am keeping track of these types of "OOPS's to see if we can see a pattern as to why this happens...
There is another dock jumper with an injury in the same area of the spine as Ida right now, not as serious, but still....I am being conservatively concerned..and just trying to gain info....
Anyone else ever have any kind of injury from their dogs jumping into water?

Very nice article Sandra,
Jim & Mr. D mastering the stay yet?
I hope Mr. D doesn't land like that often!!

Thank God he was not injured. He did not miss the end of the dock Jim threw the toy behind him! This also happened in Redding and I got somewhat hysterical and pulled him from the competition...yeah I know you can't imagine me getting hysterical! As far as the sit/stay Jim has a new technique...he places the birdie at the end of the dock shows it to him walks him back points again then proceeds to the end...that worked a few times in Reno then he went goofy again! He entered the top 4 dogs in second place with a jump of 23"6 but lost his steam and came in fourth! We are still very very proud of him! Someday maybe he will sit and stay until then I just keep my eyes closed and hope when I open them he is still at the end of the dock!

Great article!
It's awesome to read about the dogs and the sport getting some "air time" in the news! That article might inspire 5 other people to come out and try it! YEA!
Hugs to MickeyD!

Very cool story Sandra :D ...the pics are a bit scary.... :?
the local newspaper did a feature on Gunner as well ( I think I shared it with everyone at Mel Cottons)- I was so stoked...It made us into a bit of a local celebrity, I had people stopping me at the grocery store and saying - "hey aren't you the lady with that flying border collie, we saw you guys in the Mtn View Voice"...it was really cool - our 10 seconds of fame! :D
I think it is awesome for us to be able to share more and more with the media whether it is in print of video coverage, says something great for this sport we all love! :D :D :D

That is a great story Sandra. I tell everyone I meet about SplashDogs. I encourage them to go if not to participate then to watch and see all the great dogs.

HI Sandra, Jim, everybody..
Great article on the infamous Mickey-D. I loved it! THe pictures are a bit scary-he's lucky he was OK afterward.
I didn't realize that Cash was your dog. I'm clueless, I know. Sometime you'll have to give me the story on his loss. It must have been so very hard to lose him.
Anyhoo, you've got a great dog in MIckey-D! We love him!
Take care!!
