Hello All,
This is from the SRS site. This event will be held at the Euk. National dog show in Dec. 2008
We set the Super FLy and V, December 13 and 14th (Pro only) event at the Eukanuba National Dog show in Long Beach, California. Due to the time frame and the other events happening here we are limited to Pro Jumpers only.
We got the Opportunity to go to the EUK National Dog show last year and it is a blast. If you love dogs, you can see them all right here. They have dogs from all over the world at this one!!!
What is a PRO? a dog that has jumped over 18 ft in two or more competitive events
Pro Division (Fly) AKA Super Air
This division is open to any team.
• $100.00 entry fee covers jumps for the entire weekend
• 2 jumps per team
• Space limited to first 50 teams
• 80% of the entry fees are paid to 20% of the field
• Top 3 qualify for the SRS Crown Championship.
• There will be a 2-minute time limit on the dock per jump for all Pro Division events
Super V
Qualifying
The qualifying height will start at 5' 8". Each round the height will increase by 2". The qualifying round will continue until 12 dogs have advanced. If 12 dogs do not advance the height will decrease by 1" and those that did not advance will have another attempt. Only 1 attempt will be allowed at this time. The height will continue to decrease by 1" until we have all 12 dogs.

Hi Melissa . . .. I owe you a phone call, but that will be later when I have plenty of tissues. . .
I tried to register, but it doesn't have the Long Beach event listed as an option. I've never registered for an SRS event, so maybe I'm doing it wrong.
Also, that Prado, CA event....is that at Prado Dam? I googled Prado, CA and what came up was the place in Chino. Is that the one?
This is exciting! Thanks for the post!

Linda:
I think the event in Prado is at Prado Dam (which is the birthplace of my dog Chase!!!!!!) but it is not for dock jumping but rather only for retriever trials. I went on the web page and it did not have anything about jumping for Prado, just trials. Melissa, am I correct?

Yes Brooke you are right Prado is for the Retriever trails only. I will be lucky to hang out with my good friends... Maybe even get to do a little handling... What do you say Johnson Retrievers? :o) Thunder Thunder?
I have a phone call in to Steve. This might be an on site registration...
I will have answer shortly
Stryker will be there but only as a demo dog unless we dont have enough dogs for Super V. Shannon and JT (Justin) will be at this event.

This is awesome :D WHOO HOO the SRS here in Cali and a retriever trial too.
Hey Melissa. I think we should have enough dogs to do more than just a demo for SV. Even with no chance of winning you can count on Nevada for sure. TeeHee I am kinda used to knowing how SV will turn out with Stryker in attendance :)
I'm excited. This is so cool. It is a huge fun event for the athletic dog enthusiast. I have done the flyball demo at the Euk event for the last 2 years. Guess they won't get me this year cause Nevada and I are gonna be swimming ;)

This is a Super V qualifier. I am not Jumping Stryker in this event unless we only have 2 dogs.

Hey melissa,
on the website it says professional super dock competitors only. What does it mean?
Also, it has the splashdogs logo up, is splashdogs going to be there?
Can anyone compete?
Thanks!!!

This event will be for pro competitors only, limited to 50 teams due to time constraints. That means you would have to have two jumps in any organization over 18'

Brian:
Does that mean that in order to qualify, you have to have jumped 18 feet or over in 2008, or do you qualify if you have jumped 18 feet or over in previous years?

It doesn't matter what year or organization. If you have two jumps over 18' you can compete in the pro level at SRS events

Okay, I was able to register. I didn't realize it, but after you 'add a dog', then it takes you to the list of events you can register for, and Long Beach is right there.
Do you know exactly where in Long Beach? I'm guessing the Convention Center? Do we need to bring E-Z ups if it's outdoors and hot?
And what does 'dress accordingly' mean? hahaha!

1st off Linda got your email.... Dont worry I am working on a pay back... Bring a box of tissue to Cyno.
Yes at Convention Center at same spot as always. Dress for TV is what that means. I dont know 100% if SRS is going to be taping this event, I know that EUK is going to do some taping tho. You need not to worry you dress within dress code.. hehehe
I would bring E-z up.... This is Dec.... so Weather is ?????????
See you in a few weeks.

Lets see if this is all cleared up.. You have to have 2 18 foot jumps recorded with any of the jumpin orgs..
I don't belive we are filming this, Animal Planet has all rights to the Challenge.
I may be wrong, it might get worked out be4 we arrive.
Mellisa;; are sure you can handle a Thunder pup?? aka Rainey?? She might be a little too slow for you..:)

What will be the cost for SV?
Cheese Dogs

Vertical is 125 bucks for the Pro Division. It starts at 5'8" for qualifier but if the majority wants higher then they start higher usually 6'2" to 6'4"

I've had this question brought up 3 x's..
When the SRS home page says registration closes on this date an time.
THAT IS ONLY for the retriever trials only..
We will be taking ON-SITE entries and pre-registration entrants for pro SUPER DOCK competitions..

Dave,
From what I remember, you have to "Register" before you can get into the web-site. Once you do that, then you'll find the event listed and the rest is easy....blah, blah, blah, blah!
Looking forward to seeing you guys @ Cyno!

Guys, when I try to add Salix, the Long Beach event is not listed as an option. Am I an idiot? Oh wait, don't answer that. See yas in the SouthWest. It's gonna be a schorcher for us....again.

Hey David, I had the same problem. Go ahead and fill out the 'add a dog' part. You won't see the Long Beach event listed, but that's okay. After you hit enter (or submit, or whatever it is, I forget), THEN the Long Beach event will come up. Try that.
