Since Cynosports we have suspected that Forrest was coming out of remission. On the plane ride there Sarah noticed that his lymphnodes where up a little on his neck. We decided to wait and see what happened over the weekend. He seemed fine and they seemed to go down a little so we figured it was nothing. Since then they have slowly been going up again. A week ago I took him to the vet we use just for every day things and he also suspected that he was coming out of remission. He was given a shot to see if that would help or not. (not chemo) On Monday morning I was petting him and checking him all over and I noticed that they had gotten bigger again and so had the ones on his chest.

Needless to say Forrest is out of remission again.

We are contacting another vet today to see about other treatment options for Gumpy. Right now he is feeling great and acting normal and the lymphnodes are not huge and you still have to really look for some of them. We are hoping to try Chemotherapy again and possible radiation this time as well.. I am just hoping it works again. At least just one more time. This last time he went the longest without Chemo (3months) than he did since starting last year.

I do have to add.. you would think this would slow him down a little.. NOPE he is still a wild man and I have spent most of today trying to keep him out of trouble. He is now finally in his crate sleeping.. Only after playing in the snow for over an hour

Other than the lymph nodes you would not know there was a thing wrong with him. We are actually heading to a UAD event with him this weekend to let him have his fun.

Thanks everyone... Well Gumpy is still being Gumpy. He is still feeling great and is silly as ever. He was diving this weekend in Ohio and was doing great. He still managed his usual 20'+ jumps. The vet is calling me back tomorrow so we can arrange Chemo. His lymph nodes have not gone up much more so we are not worried to much.. Now our big problem is that we are spoiling him a little to much and he is getting a little chubby. opppsssssss

He is now off diving until the new year so I'll have to find a new way to keep him in shape. Now that the snow is here we may just have to bundle him up and go have a few snowball fights.

Sending good thoughts to Gumpy and his family on this Thanksgiving holiday. Having 3 lapdogs (2 of which are terriers) myself, I know these little dogs can do amazing things. Good luck with treatment and glad to hear his spirits are up and you have so many people thinking good thoughts.

Well Gumpy has not started Chemo yet. Our new vet was waiting to consult with an oncologist. We finally heard back yesterday about the plan. We have to go to Toronto tomorrow night to see one specialist before the oncologist. He goes to the oncologist on Friday morning. Hopefully they will start Chemo that day as well.. I can say that you can now tell that he is not well. His lymphnodes are huge and he is having trouble breathing when lead by a collar. He is also loosing bladder control. The bad news in all of this is that this will be his last round of Chemo. After this we are out of options for him. Sarah is doing well with all of it. She knows we have done all we can for him. With this round we are also doing something very different. Gumpy will not be diving while on Chemo. We are going to fully crate rest him. The vet things this may be the best hope for him... So right now it's a wait and see for him. We'll know for sure on Friday how things are going to go.
