I second your thoughts Sandra! This past weekend was alot of fun, as usual Tony and the Splash Dogs Crew did a fantastic job. Special KUDOs to Sandra and Jim for working so hard to make this event a great one! JJ - thank you for taking over the registration table. I was very sidetracked with Amanda, Sassy and Gunner that I spent maybe 15 minutes there all weekend - big apologies to Sandra.....

I was very proud to see my little Amanda take pride in jumping our 13 yr old BC, Sassy. Sassy has some ailments that retired her from flyball 2 yrs ago and we've basically retired her from everything until this weekend. This weekend being her 13th birthday I thought she would enjoy being with us and taking a few jumps off the dock, of course remebering we couldn't over work her. She did great with Amanda, top jump of 6'6" and I couldn't be prouder of her and Amanda. Sassy jumped in 4 waves over the weekend and each time as excited as the first time...and feeling fine this morning... :D :D

Gunner - well as usual, he had an ok Saturday but came back on Sunday to a high flyer!...I wonder if this is a trend for him....lol I was proud to be in the top 12 Pro finals and even more thrilled at being in the top 4.

Thanks to JJ for letting Amanda jump Jinx on Sunday not only in the morning wave but in the JR Finals. Amanda and Jinx soared to a 13'7" - it was awesome! Amanda also tried working with Emma as well. I'm not sure what they jumped as I was ushering Sassy back to her crate for Amanda... :? .lol

Everyone - thanks for the friendship, conversations, hugs and support this weekend. It was sooo much fun and not only are Gunner and I looking forward to the next event, but so is Amanda and Sassy.

I agree it was a great event! Renegade and I were very sad that we couldn't attend Sunday. The weather was perfect! Friday was great - not many dogs and lots of dock time. Saturday was busy, but it was fun seeing all the new dogs jumping and watching some of the 23'+ dogs jumping!

I want to thank everyone for being so welcoming and supportive! It's great to be able to come to an event and have everyone include me right off the bat. Definitely makes for a fun weekend! I also appreciate everyone's suggestions and help in improving my tosses to help Ren go even further.

I was only planning on attending one day of the 9/23-24 Madera event, but I had so much fun this weekend that I'm going to mention going both days to my hubby and see how poorly he reacts :)

I wish it were that easy! He got hooked too at the Mel Cottons event. Problem is that his work week is Sun-Thurs. So, he can attend Saturdays, but not Sundays :( If I do both days of Madera I'll stay in a hotel, thus he can't come along...

Maybe we'll win the lottery and then he can get rid of that silly job thing!

My husband and I (and my little brother and Charlie too!) really enjoyed the Auburn event. We were only able to come out Sunday, but there was a great crowd and the weather was wonderful!

I was so proud of Charlie "Cruiser" (one of many Yellow Labs!) making it to the Open Finals, especially this being only his second even (The Nevada State Fair was his first). At the Fair, his best jump for me was in the high 13' range. At Auburn, he started off the final wave with two 18' jumps which got him into the Open Finals. Then he surprised me by jumping 19'10" to get into the final 4. Then, again surprised me by jumping 19'6" and 19'7" to tie for first place. Then, I totally botched the throw in the jump off and he only got like 16'6" but it was completely my fault! So, he got 2nd place in the open finals in his 2nd event ever! I couldn't be more proud of my baby, and I know he is having a blast jumping!

Thanks to everyone who has been so friendly and helpful to us and really made us feel welcome. We are totally hooked on dock diving and plan to attend many events in the future with Charlie (and with Sienna...our up and coming diver hopefully!). You guys will be seeing her in the near future! :D
