I live in Folsom. Going to meet Tony Reed at Sacramento ISE on Tuesday Jan 13th. Annie, my small golden is going with me to check it out, discuss local options and what it would take to get something started. I'd like to start a club. We just need a practice location. Hope to hear back from anyone with ideas.

I would LOVE to practice with dogs from Sacramento. My two year old Black Lab, Murphy made his first jumps at the ISE this weekend. He LOVED it and wants more. Does anyone know of a dock in the Sacramento area??

Hello Sacramento Dock Jumpers!

I may have found us a location with a dock for our dogs to practice. The Homeward Bound Golden Retriever Sanctuary has a pond and a dock. The president of the organization has invited me to bring Murphy to the sanctuary and discuss using their dock for us to practice.

Murphy made his first jump this weekend at Cal Expo and wants to jump as much as he can, so I'm hot on the trail of a location for him to use.

If you are still interested in jumping in the Sacramento area, please write back and let me know.

thanks-
Amy

I was at the event @ CalExpo last weekend. My dog Aries had so much fun, I would love to find a local club to get some practice. It was our first time, and some practice would be great.

Please let me know if there is something in the area.

Thanks!

Hi,
I am a new member and I am interested in helping to start a club in the Davis area or if someone could let me know of a place that they are taking their dog to practice I would love to meet someone there and practice with them. I have to go to library to get on computer so can't check my e-mail too often but you could call me at 707 628 9247. I'm available pretty much anytime so would love to hear from someone. Thanks, Connie

Hi, I live in Davis and I am a total newbie. I would love to get involved with a group in this area.
Will any of you be in Pittsburg this weekend (March 21-22)? I am planning on being there with George (beautiful yellow lab - surely you can spot him in the crowd, LOL). Perhaps we could find a way to meet at Pittsburg to discuss a local group?

Hi!
I've read the posts about interest in a club for the Sacramento/Davis area? Anything new with that? I'm interested in joining! I've participated in two Splash Dog events with my Labradoodle, Dakota. We plan to compete in the Auburn event as well.

Hi there! My dog and I are new to the sport but would love to join in the fun. We found a dock in west sac on the river but it's only so so....i'm not even sure we're supposed to be playing on it. So we would love to get involved if you guys have found a spot. Also our agility trainer is hoping to have a dock diving pond setup in Elk Grove sometime this year. Please let me know if you guys are training and what the schedule is. Thanks!

Got a "new" lab. He's full of energy and loves to jump. Was wondering if a club has been formed in the greater Sac area. I'm in Penn Valley and would be interested. What does it take to enter a dog in competition and how does one find out about local (no. cal) events.

Thanks, Ducdawg

Are you on the SD mailing list? If so that is a great way to hear about upcoming events or by checking our Upcoming Events page http://www.splashdogs.com/events/ . There is an event coming up in Capitola, CA on Halloween weekend if you are free, take a drive down. It's about 40 minutes from San Jose, not too bad of a drive.

In order to participate with your dog all you need is to come out to one of the events and register. You can start with Open Practice and pay just $10 for all day practice between Competition Waves. If your dog is comfortable going off the dock then enter them for a Competition Wave - it's as simple as that. The SD Staff can help you get your dog started, all you gotta do is ask and we're always willing to help.
