Gumpy started to cross the bridge last night.. After a good day at the park we thought he was still ok.. Last night he made the choice to start leaving us. We thought he would go through the night but this morning he is still with us. He is comfortable and is very peacefull.. If he does not go this morning we are taking him to the vet this afternoon.

Sarah is holding up well. This is her choice for him to go at home. She wants him surrounded by love.

I just got off the phone with Aimee and Gumpy is now at peace over the rainbow bridge :( They thought he was going to go in his sleep last night but he didn't. They didn't want him to suffer so today they took him to their vet sponsor in Toronto. He gave Sarah a hug and went peacefuly with no sedation. He was ready. Aimee and Sarah are sad but doing okay.

Gumpy...... I am so fortunate to have met you. I will never forget you. You have touched the lives of so many and we are all better for it. May you find as many rubber chickens, rubber aligators, cheeze puffs and french fries that you can find. Love you... I am going to miss you little guy.

Gumpy enjoy the dock at the Rainbow Bridge! Please be sure to say Hi to my Sammy (Shetland Sheep dog), Cash, Chief and the many others that this old man can not think of the names at this time. Take it moment by moment Mom and day by day..

We are so sad we never had the chance to meet such a wonderful dog that touched so many. We continue to pray for good thoughts and and peaceful closure for all of you.

Hopefully Gumpy is also playing with Gypsy my ol 17 & 1/2 yr old. There are so many pets to love and may that be the only reason why they don't get to live with us as long as we wish they did.

Much love your way.........

Thank you everyone.. We sure are missing the little guy. We know he will never be forgotten and he will live on in our hearts.. Sarah is starting to take things pretty hard. We are getting ready to go to an event this weekend and it's hard to pack with out him.. She only has one regret, that we didn't bring him back to the nice warm sun when we had the chance just before he got really sick.. She just needed that one more jump for his title. I keep telling her that he is making those jumps now all he wants to.

Sometimes, there are just no words. Gumpy was so very, very lucky to have two people who cared so much for him. As we say in Chase Away now, Be Your Dog's Hero. You definitely are. I'll miss the little guy, too. I'll always picture him in his cape, flying off the dock. Thank you for coming out to Cynosports so we could meet him. He touched a lot of people, and so have you.

Linda... Aimee and I were just talking about that the other day. She is so glad that they came to Cyno and only regrets that they didn't enter one more wave cause then he would have had his title with Splash. Oh well hindsite
