I do not know if there is much we can do about the eviction, but Robin, Gregg and the dogs need our help....
The Canine Club in Sparks is closing Wednesday after getting an eviction notice. The tough economy combined with co-owner Greg Gibbs being hospitalized in intensive care for a torn esophagus have taken their toll. Co-owner Robin Baizel emailed me this message:
The Canine Club is permanently closing on Wednesday March 11 at Noon. I am deeply sorry to all of my clients and friends who are caught short by our untimely eviction.
There is no alternative at this time. Greg still has several months of recovery ahead of him. In the meantime, I will be continuing to provide free behavior evaluations by appointments and will be available for affordable private training lessons, dog walking, pet sitting, transport, you name it. Please contact me at: 775-240-6257 with questions.
Robin is still seeking homes for the foster dogs they had taken in. Sheri Baby (seen in the photo) is a pit bull described this way:
She is between 1 and 2 years old. She is very sweet but very energetic. She loves to play ball and can play fetch tirelessly for hours. She is affectionate andd loving to people.
She also seeks a home for one of the Gabbs dogs they'd taken in named Race. Here is how she describes him:
He still won't be leashed and only lets a few people pet him. And almost never with both hands at the same time. I think I'll see if Best Friends will take him.
The Canine Club's plight was featured last night on KRNV. You can read the report here. (A third dog, also from Gabbs, is mentioned in the report for whom they are also seeking a home. I'm trying to reach Robin for info on this as well as more photos, but I suspect she's extremely busy.)
