Thanks to everyone from the OC Pet Expo!

Hi everyone,

I wanted to send a huge thank you to everyone who came out to the OC Family Pet Expo Dock Jumping Challenge! We couldn't have done it without all of you, our competitors, spectators, staff, volunteers and our sponsors!

There were so many hilights that I know I'll miss several if I try to list them but....here are a few!

First off, it wouldn't be right if I didn't brag...Twiztid, yes, Twiztid has a new PB this weekend of 7'04" and also the most toys lost over a weekend competition (4)! Vandal, Ally's lil borderjack took 1st place in the Lap Dog Final and Aries and Ryan took 1st in SV with a jump of 6'10"!

Some event hilights:
Corgi breed record smashed by Sir Jack, now sitting in at 11.05!
Roxy the Chihuhua made her first jumps, breed record for the Chihuhua is now set at 4'07"
Astra, the first Swedish Valhund jumped this past weekend (this is a lap dog)

Super Vertical - thank you to all of our SV Competitors, it was a great competition! I love seeing the different breeds in the competition, Aries (MB), Emmy(Belgian Tervuren), Nevada (BC), Rudy (Australian Shepherd), Jasmine (Lab), Mowgli (Belgian Tervuren), Katie (Golden) and newcomer Tess (Lab).

Special KUDOS go to our special entertainment - Ryan and Pumba, Natalie and Katie, Marilyn and Dunkin, Samantha and Davy Jones and Leland and Sir William. These guys worked to keep the crowd entertained during intermission and also sharing the Splash Dogs experience with several of our younger spectators!

Just wanted to chime in and say Sir William and I had a blast here at this event even though his tail was hurt. Its going to be hard to top the amount of fun we had going to this event. Many thanks to the Splash Dogs team for all the hard work they did.

Can't wait for the next event :D

Hey Everyone -

Just wanted to say it was GREAT to see everyone at the Expo! With the tough economy, I've cut back on so many things and have had to miss several shows. This weekend was like coming home again. I love the way everyone converges from NoCal to San Diego - and a few from other regions as well. To everyone who worked the event, you guys ROCK! It was so well done you made it look easy. Tony - thanks as always. Thanks also to Marilyn/Marty/Brooke for letting us pirate some shade in the unbearable heat of Sunday - MUCH appreciated!

For those of you who don't know, Emmy *started* her dock diving adventures 4 years ago at this event as a puppy. My agility club was there to do a demo right next to the Splash Dogs area and Emmy had nothing to do so I thought we'd give it a shot. Never having SEEN a pool before she stood on the end of the dock barking her fool head off frustrated she couldn't get the toy floating in the water! She *finally* went in to get the toy, realized it was no big deal afterall, and we've been having a blast ever since! (Lesson for the newbies to take heart if their dog doesn't jump in right away!)

Not sure when we'll get back to the dock, but it was a great weekend. Congratulations to the dogs who got ribbons and all who had a good time.
