Hi Folk,

I'm afraid I won't be able to take any photos for you for about 4 weeks. I tore a ligament in my right hand and am in a cast. I should have it off by the time of the Vallejo event so I'm planning on being there to take photos.

We went hiking with Maxx and Lucy last Saturday and while we were on a trail on the side of a hill, we met up with a couple of folks on horseback. We stepped aside to let them go by. I was at the end of the line and as the horses got to me Lucy decided to bark at them. The horse next to me reared up and started backing toward me and slipping on the trail. All I could do was jump down the side of the hill to get out of the way--(all I remember thinking was "I hope he's not following me down"). When I hit the sloping ground my feet slipped on some leaves, went out from under me and I landed on my right hand and tore some ligaments in my thumb. BUT, the GOOD news is...the Camera is fine!! :-)

I'm doing OK but the pain of not being able to push a camera shutter button is throwing me into withdrawals :-( So sorry I can't take photos for you right now. Looking forward to being back with you soon.

Howie, hope you're feeling better real soon. . . that ligament stuff can be pretty painful, glad you're ok. And when you are back to your 'ol self, I'm sure you're going to be darn happy that you're (expensive) camera is ok too ! :)

Oweeeeeeeee! Ligament damage when healing is very painful. I injured my baby finger a few years ago and it is killer when the ligaments start to re-attach themselves. My thoughts and prayers are with ya for a quick and speedy painless recovery.

I'm typing this really slow, so for full effect, read it slowly :-) .... Thanks so much, everyone, I really apprecate your kind wishes. Can't wait to be back among the greatest dog people in the world!!
