What a beautiful weekend in Monterey! Great to see many of our SplashDog friends though looks like many others of the NorCal/NV folks were in Quincy. Congrats to another great showing by Aries and Makena -- it's amazing to watch them fly. And other teams did great increasing their distances and PB's -- congrats to Mason for his SV win!
Sandra, you'll be glad to know we finally got above 6th -- but it was in the Opens! I know you'll be looking at the scores and wondering about Hannah's 12-13-14's -- she had a slip on the dock and even stopped on one run (which Hannah has never done). Urs said she was hesitating and watching the edge instead of the toy. We did have a couple great practice jumps before the slip -- I thought it was psychological but now think it may be physical though she doesn't show any other signs/pain. Stacie, I found Makena's chiropractor via Google -- thanks so much for the advice about these focused sports dogs and their injuries! The good news for our weekend is we hit our 1/4 mile frequent flyer award AND the first leg to a Junior title (didn't think that would be our next one after Senior and Pro ;)
Special thanks to Urs, the staff, and even other competitors for helping promote our little Lady foster dog at the event. We were able to introduce her to a couple of interested families and hand out flyers that people can share with their friends. Our last foster was placed through a SplashDogs event as well -- it takes a village you know! I think it speaks so highly of this organization in everything SplashDogs represents at events from showing great representatives of lots of dog breeds (including re-educating people about PitBulls) and helping rescued dogs find homes -- while people have lots of fun with their dogs.
Hope to see you in Sacramento -- for Ursula's continued birthday party!
