I'm going into SplashDogs withdrawals already seeing the Sept/Oct schedule -- is the Staff considering any other competitions in the greater NorCal area after the CA and NV state fairs this month? I see we have a fun jump in Sept (but only 1 non-competition jump on Sat/Sun). We may have to make a trip to SoCal to take advantage of their 5 weeks of daily competitions and weekly finals -- very jealous! Any chance to add another event up north?

We're working on the schedule and hoping to have one or possibly two more Nor Cal event this year. We'll post it to the Upcoming Events page once we have dates confirmed.

Yippee! That's terrific! You can count on us to be there! Thanks for such an action packed schedule this season!

I took Hannah to the chiro today who found some issues in both her middle back and left hind -- nothing too serious but she thought it definitely was bad enough to effect her performance. The DC said she probably wouldn't be 100% by this weekend so glad we'll have another shot at jumping in Sept/Oct!

Yippeeee!! is right! I was likewise bummed to think dock jumping might be over for us for the year. If there are new events, Nick & I will be there with bells on!

Have fun in Sac, everyone. Don't think we can make it....

Thanks, Diane! All the support for rescue adoption is much appreciated. It's been great to have foster dogs at our events since it gets people thinking about shelters and rescues to find their next dog.

We have a very interested couple coming to meet Lady this afternoon who we've been talking to all week. They live in Carmel 4 blocks from dog beach -- she's a retired nurse who is ready for her next doggie companion to walk all over town/beach while her husband is at work. If you've haven't been to dog-friendly Carmel's main beach and nearby Garland Ranch offleash hiking trails, this area is heaven-on-earth for dogs (it's our girls' recommendation for a getaway weekend)! I hope I have good news to post later this weekend -- fingers crossed!

Cyndi, that is fantastic news about little Lady! I think she is a beautiful dog and very special, as she is not the type of Lab we see all the time. You did an excellent job showcasing her personality at Monterey. All of my dogs have been rescues, including Nicky.

out of the Santa Cruz/Monterey area, Stockton/Sac or north/east would be great. Lucy would love to be there. Trying to get her to Squaw for ArtBark, but since I can't be there, I'd love more in this general area, i.e. 2-2.5 hours or less away.

Halloween in Capitola -- how fun! I hope everyone is thinking about costumes. Here is our pack's 2008 Grease costumes with me & Hannah in pink ladies/doggies jackets with poodle/lab skirts, and Troy & Torri as T-birds (Torri didn't seem to mind the gender confusion). Probably not best for dock diving but we'll think of something.

Thanks for setting up the additional NorCal event -- maybe more? Hope it's a competition so can add a few more feet to scores as we wrap up the 2009 season.

P.S. Yay -- this is my 100th post! What a wonderful year getting to know all you SplashDog friends. I remember Sandra and Urs passing 1000 posts each this year -- that's a ton of typing, ladies!

Cyndi:
Congratulations on that 100th post may many more come! Love the pictures! Saw Molly on your website, she is beautiful! How are things going with her?

Thanks, Sandra! Molly is a cuddler and sweetie pie -- it seems like all these rescued dogs know how lucky they are and repay you with tons of love. I haven't posted her on SplashDogs since we already have 4 pre-screened families wanting to adopt her -- so now we have to select the very best match! Hope to have another happy ending in a couple of weeks.
