View Full Version : I am Very,Very Disapointed!
Don't get me wrong. We had a blast and the people running the compitition were great. This was my first time entering. My Beau won First place in the Super Virtical in the Pensacola Red fish Cup and it has not been posted. Beau and I worked hard for a year to get to do this and He is not being reconized for his acomplishiment. Why?

SV results for the Redfish Cup event will be available shortly...there were some advancements being done on our registration program, Super Vertical scoring was part of the upgrade and we held off until those were complete.
Thanyou very much for letting me know whats going on.

Ursula:
This seems like a perfect opportunity to thank you for all that you do, quite frankly, I don't know how there is enough time in the day for you! So again, thank you!

I need to chime in also. Prior to the LA Pomona Fair month long marathon Splashdogs event that just took place, I took for granted all of the paperwork and computer work that takes place behind the scenes. I do not take it for granted anymore. I see things very differently now.
I attended the Pomona event almost everyday of the 5 1/2 week long fair. Ursula was on the go the ENTIRE time. She never stopped working. If we were between waves; she had her cell phone tucked under her chin giving directions to someone coming to the event, while typing the updated information and competitors names into the computer for the next wave, using her other hand to motion to the fair managers where she put the daily tally sheet they require each afternoon. And this is with additional people helping her run the event. I later found out that she would return to the hotel room each night and be on the computer updating information until 2:00am each morning.
The bottom line is that these events are not just competitions, they must also be entertainment for those attending the fair, store opening, pet expo, etc. and that takes a lot of work to ensure that BOTH the participants AND the audience that comes to see the event are having a great time. Perhaps that means that some of the computer updating takes a back seat and experiences a bit of lag time, but after witnessing the amount of work it takes to put on a truly FUN & ENTERTAINING event like Pomona was, I now thoroughly understand it.
Kudos and thanks to you Urs for all you do, for all of us, in making this such a great experience for everyone, whether they jump 25 feet or 25 inches.

I have to also chime in. Not being present, I know I do not need to say I was there in order to seriously DITTO what Brooke stated.
Ursula's drive to make it happen is unlike many. She makes the difference because she has the passion, creativity, strength and energy to pull it off.
However, I FULLY understand that our Splash Dog Family realizes the excitement levels we look forward to seeing in results posted. It's just one of those proud moments....our claim to fame if you may.
I will not speak for any others, but what I will say is the Splash family is understanding and compassionate to all emotions these events withstand and create. Happiness, Sadness, Proudness, Anger, Fustration, Impatience....etc.
We ALL have had are good, bad & indifferent events each time, but we are still growing and we are still competing. Unfortunately, we all can't make each other happy, and we never will. I think this is okay.........it's just part of life.
The bottom line is that these Splash Dogs and other dock diving dog associations are for OUR DOGS HAPPINESS.
Please don't forget that if you will..........
Thank you for allowing my expression in reply.
Respectfully,
Gianna

We have said it on other posts, so all I'll say is -
Ditto - Ditto - Ditto !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A year ago I took Beau to the the Splash Dog event here in Pensacola. He was Six months old. I paid $10.00 to see if he would do it. He did. I was so happy he hesiatated at first but then he as ok with it. After that Beau and I went to obediance school. He was first in His class. He passed the AKC CGC test. I have to tell you all I was not a big pet lover. Dog,cat whatever. I thought pets was just a pain in the ass. Beau changed me. He was give to me by along time friend. I fell in love with him right away. I didn't mean to upset or make anyone mad. Everyone I meet that works for splash dogs were really good people and did a wonderful job. My post of very disapoitment was because I worked so hard with Breu. Training, playing, and being his best buddy that when he won the super virtical it wasn't posted I was upset. I hope Spalsh dogs come back to Pensacola next year. Beau and I meet a lot of good people and dogs there it was a blast! You haven't seen the last of Beau and I. He will break the Golden Retriver Super Virtical record! SASSY please have them fix the Super Virtcal height fo Beau. He jumped 5.6 not 5.06
Thanks Kim

5.06 is 5'6" That's how it is recorded. 5.6 Would be 5' 60" (not correct). It is correct in the 2009 SV Rankings @ 56. Our dog Diesel jumped 5'2" @ LA County Fair in the last few weeks. Look at the rankings, he is listed 5.02 @ 61. The main thing is enjoy your dog and have fun, he will bring you great joy for many years no matter what he Ranks!

Welcome to the world of owning a dog. Training, fun, training, fun, and more training. Dogs are like having a five year old child live in your house for their entire lives. BTW Kim..........5.06 = 5'6" or five feet six inches.

We all know how exciting it is when our dog jumps so no worries. I am just sorry I couldn't get Beau's rankings in until after the program fix. The score for will stand at 5.06, as others said that is how it is recorded.
I hope you and Beau will be heading out to the Spook Splash & Dog Olympics in Ft. Myers - this will be a great event!
I would love to go Sassy but it's just not in my budget. I would go to every one if I could. My dogs and I love it. Next year I'm going to make both Red Fish events in Louisiana and here in Pensacola. I hope they come back here!
