Who is making the trip to Phoenix this year? If your going where are you staying?
Jim & I will not be able to make it this year. Hopefully it is going to be another huge turnout. Hope everyone has a great time! This is such a fun event and it is unfortunate that we can not make it!

Well if I can keep Tinka healthy and fit, ( this past two months has been a little hard on her- she got her leg ran over/ stitches ensued on that one-but no breaks which was sooo lucky), then she just spent last Tuesday in the doggie hospital ) BUT aside from that she is really looking forward to another fun time @ Cyno...
See all of you there!!

Tonka's ears looked GREAT, I have the time off, and everything in the works to go. I've been going out to the lake and a friends pool getting her in shape, and perfecting her fourm ...

Up until 2 weeks ago, on our last day of play & jumping at the lake. I noticed Tonka holding her back left leg up when she was walking, and when she was standing, only the tip of her toes was touching.

Off to Dr. Paws we go, and he diagnosed her with a partiaclly toren ACL, putting her on 'Couch/Crate Rest'. She just now got the okay to go for short walks, with no stress on her, or jumping.

We will be there in spirit, and looking forward to seeing pictures. ~ Deb & Tonka

Hope Tonka heals up soon.
I would love to go but just can't do that long drive by myself.
Anybody have room for me and 2 dogs? They both travel together in a 300 crate. Anybody interested give me a shout as I and especially Page would love to go.

I too will only be there in spirit as Nevada is on rehab for a torn CCL too. I have a really great forum for you to go to for support it's http://pets.groups.yahoo.com/group/ConservativeManagement/ They are a wealth of support and information in doing CM rehab properly. I do hope that you have Tonka on supplements as it is very important in the healing process. OMGosh Deb... 2 weeks is way to soon to be introducing activity. Nevada is in week 9 of rehab and is still on house arrest meaning no activity. She is allowed to swim only which is good but absolutely no jumping or twisting and no walks yet. Please, Please do not increase Tonka's activity too quickly or you are going to be looking at a full tear and possibly meniscus damage which would require surgery. I have become very experienced with this injury and would be glad to share with you what I have learned in the past 9 weeks. Email me at LadyDancer@sbcglobal.net

Tess and I will not be going either. At present, she's been diagnosed with elbow dysplasia and has to be "kept low." Taking her for a second opinion on Monday before dong anything surgical.
Wish we could go but, hopefully next year. We'll be there in spirit though and thinking about all of you. Have a blast!

I just realized there is a special little puppy who will be celebrating his 1st Birthday at this year's Splash Dogs Championships. Sniper will be 1 yr old on Sunday 11/15 and will be celebrating by jumping in his first Championship! Sniper's brother Switch is also coming out and hoping to qualify.

Where has the time gone...he's already a year?!

WOW....did not jump into this link till now and read from start to finish.

As a late bloomer I will not stop my reply that I am so thankful all the injuries are not permanent. All I knew about was Nevada and I am very proud of Shari for taking those patient steps with her. Good to know she is swimming!

I am feeling worried about all of you now! I hope all injuries are continuing to heal and that all mom's have not lost it yet trying to keep those competitors down.

Miss all of you and am wishing EVERYONE good luck. Sounds like there is going to be a fierce 6' competing SV event. Dega is dreaming about it now, and will pray she is there striving for it too next year.

2010 is our goal to attend, till then please travel safe and HAVE FUN!

Actually if you want to get technical his birthday is the 16th ;) I know cause I was there fretting and panicing ALL NIGHT LONG  Karma is going to miss celebrating her birthday with her baby brothers. I am very sad to not be going to Cyno this year but with Nevada's injury and little Karma not being quite ready to compete I thought it best to stay home. I expect to be on the phone with Barbra lots for updates on how all my special friends and their pups are doing.

Happy Birthday to the boys from Auntie Shari and big sister Karma (kiss kiss)

Love ya all.....

Gianna... Lets make a pack right now that come 2010 Dega will most certainly be doing SV and that Nevada will heal and can compete again in SV (it's iffy for us ) but either way I am truly thankful that they are alive and well. Nevada has become a happy little house dog laying around chewing on her kong and playing by herself with her toys. She has not been swimming much as it has become cold and the cold water is not good for the leg but regardless she is doing famously :D 10 weeks with no limp or inflamation. Just to be safe I am still going to wait a few more weeks before I start slowly edging her back in to sports. I am one of those freaked out mom's now and panic every time I see her pick up speed faster that a trot. Eeek!!

To Barbara, Suzy and Deb.... Glad to know that your pups are healing. Keep up the good work and remember healing is always SLOW and STEADY.....

Gianna.... you still owe me a phone call ;)

Everybody have a wonderful time at CYNO, jump big and of course most of all HAVE FUN!! and Barbra keep that phone close please.

I wondered if his B-Day was the same as the other pups  I am sure that that is not the first time it has ever happened with pups being born. Majority won out so he gets the same B-Day as his brothers and sisters who came before him. Hehehe kinda like people or pups born in a leap year.

Oh yes... I will most certainly be there in spirit AND ON THE PHONE WITH BARBRA... Hehehe do you think she gets the point now that I have said it a million times

I will so miss being there but "sh*t happens" and you just gotta go with the flow. Ho hum!!! I will say again though. I am SO THANKFUL that Nevada is healthy and this injury in not life threatening. I think my patience will win out in the end and Nevada and I can be back up on that dock again someday entertaining and doing what we both love.

To Barbara, Suzy and Deb.... Glad to know that your pups are healing. Keep up the good work and remember healing is always SLOW and STEADY.....

Thanks Sheri!

Tess has "been through the mill" With CT Scans, Bone Scans, etc., etc. Been keeping her low for awhile now. She won't have her surgery for another 2 weeks. HOWEVER, the CT Scan showed a very mild case (she has a fragmented coroniod) so the prognosis is very good. Yes, the healing is slow. But, she's being really good about it. I'm like you though - "a freaked out mom!" Constantly got my eyes on her and watching every move she makes!

Thanks for your concern and good wishes. I send them back to you and Nevada! I think all of us should organize a "healing party" to celebrate when all of our doggies are better! ;-)

Absolutely... although I will need to keep snarly butt Nevada away from the other pups. I have a new friend too that I met through the CM forum. She has an Aussie that tore her CCL at 5 months old  Jewelz is now over a year old healed and learning herding. Linda healed her without surgery through Conservative Management just like I am doing with Nevada. We are going to plan a CM party once Nevada is healed.

Ahhhh I can so relate to the watchful eye...... Poor Nevada can't make a move without Mom telling her what to do. Thankfully she is so well behaved that she has learned what she is allowed to do and what she can't.

Wish Tess could heal without the surgery too but I know what she has is different than Nevada's injury. I do think you could benefit greatly from the CM forum during Tess's recovery. You should check it out. I posted a link to the site in an earlier post but here it is again for easy reference.

Good luck and keep us informed with Tess's recovery.

Well another team Utah will be going and might even be attempting some jumps but it's not certain yet.
Just add Blink to the infirmary pool. He has not had any good jumps since spring when his seizures flared up. The rear is going and he has a hard time with the take off.
He still gets into it, so I might enter him just so can go in for some of his latest 'nose diving' jumps.

You gals (Barb, Shari, Gosia and Suzy) keep your heads up and do what is best for your dogs...I've been on the rehab road a few times with Gunner and totally know what you are going through. Crate resting a high drive dog is not easy and sometimes you almost can feel their insanity. Stay strong and focussed.

Shari - I'm really glad to hear about Nevada's progress. I know she'll be back to herself in 2010!

Suzy - looking forward to seeing Miss Tinka in Scottsdale, did anyone tell you about the dog Tika in Capitola, I kept announcing her as Tinka, we really missed you at that event but I am glad to hear that Miss Tinka is going to Cyno and is feeling better.

Barb - we've had our tears together in LA. I hope that all is getting a little easier for Tess...I know it's hard but keep your chin up

Gosia - OML - I didn't expect to hear this about Blink, he looked great in Utah a few weeks ago. Nose dives - you gotta love those torpedo BCs!

Sarah - you know I am bummed you aren't going to Cyno - we were going to be running flyball together and who knows what trouble we were gonna get into (the LA County Bear Posse was going to be in the house) but you do what you can during hard times and times are definitley hard for a lot of people right now.

Jeff - I'm so very sorry that you guys cannot make it down. Please send your entire family my love and hugs. I know this is a very hard time for you all...

Hugs to all of you!

I just want to say "ditto" to what Urs just wrote.. Truly sorry about everyones bad/hard/and just icky times you are going through. I still panic every time Tinka sneezes!! It just freaks you out when they have been hurt or sick (or you run over your own dog's leg!!) For all that can't make it this year, Tinka will put a little bit of all your dogs into her jump's. So you can be there in spirit, (and maybe even get her a couple more inches..:) )..

I will repeat forever....there is no one like the SD group.

Well said Urs & Suzie......thanks for displaying the genuine affections we have towards our dogs

It's about them, not what we want........that is the catch 22 of it all.

Love you lots, miss all of you, and can't wait for a SPECTACULAR 2010!

Maybe this will be the year for all of us that are over due in deserving so much more in life.......

Keep the spirits up and positive and keep your dogs warm this season.

Hope everyone is having an excellent time in Cyno right now, and that you all return home safely.

You bet Suzy. Nevada can give you an extra foot. Here's hoping that it help Tinka hit that 24 footer so you can go to (where was it that you got to go when you hit the bit one..Paris, Austrailia?? .... oh yeah Italy that was it.

This is our first time to go to the World Games and I have a question that I am hoping someone can answer. The way I understand it, 5 legs in a division qualify a team for the semi-finals...what is the criteria to qualify for the finals??
