View Full Version : Goodbye dear Primo
Sassy Girl

It is with great sorrow that I write this post. Primo, one of the greatest Am Staffs to walk the dock passed away yesterday afternoon. Vito and Lucia are devastated. An autopsy was done and they say he had a seizure or possible heart attack.
Primo was a true ambassador to his breed. He enjoyed competing and performing in agility and dock jumping , and he did them both powerfully and with enthusiasm. Primo had a hard exterior big muscular blk/wht exterior, but when you got to know this dog,he could melt your heart. He was a beautiful example of man and woman's best friend.
Lucia and Vito, my heart is broken for you...they are never w/us long enough.
Dock jumping was Primo's favorite activity. He soared off the dock like poetry in motion. This weekend Aries will be jumping in honor of his fellow flyer....
Godspeed dear Primo...

Team Double Trouble sends our deepest condolences. Primo was an amazing dog to watch jump. Every muscle in his body quivering as he waited to be released. He truly will be missed. He will be able to continue his jumping at the Rainbow Dock with many of our companions who we have lost over the years.

It never seems fair to lose a family member you love so much so suddenly. I will always remember Primo as one of the best Am. Staf's I have ever seen jump. My deepest condolences and my heart goes out to all of Primo's family.

I learned of this on facebook just as I was leaving my office. I literally cried the whole way home. It so sucks to lose such a talented boy and still so young in my book. Primo was one of the most talented pups I have ever known. I feel truly blessed to have known him and competed along side him. I will miss the fun times Lucia and I had in always trying to one up each other with the tricks on the dock and razzing Vito if he didn't do them and just jumped him. He was a truly a special one of kind Am Staff with more initals of titles after his name than carter had pills. Dock jumping, agility and obediance were not his only talents. You should have seen that boy skateboard. Amazing!! I know that Lucia and Vito did every possible health prevention measure and yet still he must have had some hidden illness to cause his sudden loss. Lucia and Vito my arms are around you. I send you prayers of strength to help ease this tragic time. RIP Primo You were loved and admired by many.

Even though I heard the news on Friday I am still at a loss of words. It is always hard losing such a great dog but to lose one so suddenly with no warning is even harder. Just know that there are many people thinking about both of you and I know at the Sacramento event we were all remembering what a great dog Primo was. Try to remember all the good times which there were many since you did so much with him. In time your sadness will fade and you will just have all your wonderful memories of that great bully boy. Take care

I'm just now coming up for air after our devastating loss. it has been the very worst of times...nothing I have ever known in my life.
I want to thank each and everyone of you for loving my boy.....you all really knew him best because he was at his very best with you.
Dock jumping was his life....since a baby pup and until his last day. I'm just so sorry we didn't find out about this sport 2 years earlier.
I'm down in Merced at a Rally Trial with Didi and I will stop by Manteca on Friday on my way to Sloughouse for sprint racing. Didi is not much of a water dog so our days on the dock are put on hold for now.
I'm working out the particulars with Tony and Urs but I promise you, I will make a way for him to be remembered at his all time favorite sport.
You all enjoy every precious moment you have with your dog(s) and enjoy every, freeking jump. They go so fast that they teach us every minute counts.
Love,
Lucia

I am so stunned to hear of Primo's passing. We only had the opportunity to see him in action a handful of times, but I know he was an incredibly versatile and talented dog who was not only a wonderful friend to Vito and Lucia but an incredible ambassador for the breed. Our hearts and thoughts are with you!!
