New here...Alabama

Hi everyone. I'm new to dock diving. I saw my first competition last June, and I've wanted to try it with my Border Collie ever since! I've finally got a pool this year (small, but a pool none the less :) ) and am hoping to take the plunge into a trial sometime soon.

I have a couple questions, though. Are there any training clubs in the south Alabama area? Are there any trials going on in the June/July/August/September time frame in this area? Any advice for a first timer? My dog has jumped off a dock before and swam in a pool before, but never jumped off a dock AND jumped in a clear pool before. He loves to swim and he *loves* to retrieve.

Where in S. Ala. are you? Tony has brought his rig the last couple of years to the Seafood Fest. in Pensacola at the end of Sept. Not sure he'll have the sponsors to be able to do it this year, although, we're bugging our Festival coordinators to try. We have two border collies who love the water and diving also.

If your Border Collie loves the water you are well on your way.

Getting him comfortable jumping in and getting out is the first step.
