Hello people,,,,,

Can we get some updates on what is going on at San Mateo? You all are not answering your phones either! you know who you are!

Well, San Mateo is COLD to say the least. There's still ice covering the water in the 5 gallon buckets as I type this right now.

We've had around 25 dogs compete so far Thurs/Fri, tons more expected today. Leaders so far are Dana Smith with Cooper with a jump of 19'8", 2nd is Keith Krehbiel and Renegade at 19'4" and 3rd overall is Debra Chun with Shadow at 19'0".

Lots of newbies, some familiar faces we haven't seen in a while and lots of cold dogs!

Hey Melissa!

We're headed over to San Mateo today sometime. Nice short jaunt for us! :D Give me a call later and I'll give you any updates--I promise I'll answer the phone!

Tracy, Tang, and 3 dogs headed over that way last night! I think she was going to jump Kona in the 12pm splash.

Both Sarge and Gunner are doing EV at 6 pm and probably a splash each today. Maybe Sarge will do two splashes! We'll see if he's still wearing his Mid-West cold weather gear today!

I'm at home instead of in front of the computer with results, but as of the end of Saturday Bart and Gunner have the top jump of the weekend. Tracy and Kona, Tang or Tracy with Henry and Rob with Sisko are all in the top 4 as well. Gianna with Tella-Dega jumped over 20' for the first time and is sitting in 5th place. We've had almost 20 dogs jump in the senior division and lots of junior and splash dogs as well.

4 junior handlers this weekend - we hope they all make it back for the finals tomorrow.

Bart and Gunner won super v with a jump of 6'0" I believe. Most other dogs (Sarge, Matches, Kona) missed at their first height attempted.

It was cold, but sunny today. Tons of newcomers doing great and lots of people and dogs having fun!

Thanks for the update Wendy!

Melissa--sorry I didn't call back--I got the message but couldn't dial out to give you a holler back!

It is CHILLY in San Mateo--those longjohns from WI are coming in handy! But the dogs are jumping and everyone is doing a great job at keeping all the pups warm!

There are some good jumps going on! Rob threw a frisbee for one of Sisko's jumps yesterday and Sisko caught it! It looked really great--and good hang time in the air! I think it's Tracy who is running Henry--and this dog is really coming out strong! And if anyone has a moment--ask Tracy about Henry's story, it's sad but good.

Sarge was in a Sarge "mode" yesterday. After accidentally falling off the end of the dock into the pool, it might have been enough make him think twice for jumping. But he ended up with a 12.09, maybe we'll make the Junior finals! :D

The SV was fun to watch! We were jumping in the dark and the lights were bright behind the bumper, but the dogs were seeing the bumper. I think their depth perception for 8 feet out was affected a bit though because it looked like many of the dogs were high enough, they were just peaking about 4-5 inches before the bumper. It was dark, chilly, cold water and still those dogs were excited and driving hard for the bumper--just gotta love their focus and drive!

Pro Finals start in 10-15 minutes, we've got Gianna with Dega, Tracy with Kona, Josh with Ace, Rob with Sisko, Tang with Henry and Bart with Gunner ready to jump!

Super V finals will run right after that (we have Kona, Renegade, Miss Matches, Gunner (Richardson), Sarge, Cooper and maybe Ace waiting for this.

Senior Finals are running right now

Junior Finals were won by Amanda and Sarge, Splash Finals were won by newcomer Eric Greathouse with his duck toller Kodiak.

Junior Handler Finals included Amanda Kinley with MIss Matches taking 1st place, Leslie Grant with her duck Toller Rio taking 2nd place and Sam Fitch with his lab Sunshine taking 3rd

Hi Wendy:
Anxiously awaiting results so glad to hear that Josh & Ace were up there. Sounds pretty exciting which makes it ever so difficult to be at home :(

I don't have the official results in front of me, but top 4 were Sisko, Ace, Henry and Gunner.

I believe final results were 1st - Gunner, 2nd- Ace, 3rd Sisko and 4th Henry.

Can you say cold. I think the water was in the 40's. That was the coldest event I have jump in.
Conrats to Little gunner & Bart for pulling off 2 first places. To Josh Veach & Ace for grabbing 2 second places today. I don't think they have jumped in 6 months.
To all the people that make it happen and the great people that make it fun. Thank you for being who you are.
See you in Sacramento

I have to say, yesterday seemed colder to me than the rest of the days, but many dogs dealt with it well.

Little Miss Amanda jumped Miss Matches in the Jr Handler finals and pulled out a 1st place Jr Handler ribbon, she thought that was so cool! She was bragging to her grandparents last night all about Matches and Becky's website and how cool Matchy was going for that bumper...thank you Becky for working with her and Matches. It is really neat to see a top Jr Handler passing on tips to a new one and letting them jump your dog...

On behalf of Bay Area Diving Dogs - I am so proud of the dogs and Handlers in our club, we had several dogs in Senior Finals and even one in the Pro Finals! Renegade, Murphy, Cooper, Dega, Naika! Bravo you guys! I had many people come up and ask about the club and saying they are anxious to join.

It was a great weekend all, thanks for once again getting my mind off of my own personal issues and letting me smile for another few days.

Congrats to everyone and have fun in Sacramento! And No, we won't be going to Sac - we are moving into our new house!!! 5 days and counting!
