My Lab " Charlie"....hes only 6 months old....hes a very BIG boy for his age. Being that he was born in the late summer/early fall, we never got a chance to get him in any kind of water besides a bathtub....or the occational shower that he will barge into if you dont shut the door. I'm not sure if I were to take him to the event in Minneapolis,MN that he would be ready. So far, he hunts well, which I had no doubt about. How do I know that my dog will just willingly dive into the water? Excuse me if I sound just stupid. This is my first time. How do you prepair a dog for this or train a dog for this? How do I know that he wont just clam up when it comes to diving? Were in Minnesota as you well know and right now...lakes are all frozen and theres no where for us to take him to start training him. Any suggestions?
