Sammy's Mom

Hi!
My names Lori, I'm live in Manteca and I'm the proud mom to two very beautiful water babies (God does this sound like the beginning of a therapy session or what?? ). I also have 2 "Grand- Doggers" who seem to live for splashing around in the lakes and rivers with us as well.
We own Zen (6) and Sam (2), and the grandís are Zeus (7) and Aries (3)who live with us. Zen is a Lab/Newf mix who I adopted from Pets & Pals, and Sam is a full blooded Black Lab who we adopted as a companion for Zen. It's a long story for another thread, but we started with 2 and now have 4 and a house full of toys, bones and dog hair. And I wouldn't change anything. Well, OK so I might like a little less hair, but all the love that goes with it makes it worth while I guess.
My husband, Wayne and I have watched numerous competitions on TV and have laughed and said "Sammy does that already!". Never in my life did I think there were local clubs for this! We just load up the boys, and head for a lake or river to play in. McHenry park is one of our favorites, but there are no docks or anything to jump from :(
And then last Saturday, we happened to be in Stockton at Weber Point for the Bass Masters Tournament. And to my utter delight, Dock Dogs were there! I never laughed so hard or clapped so loud. I can't remember all of their names, but their excitement and obvious pleasure has been etched into my mind forever. One Chesapeake stands out in my mind because he was so funny. Stanley...they have to coax him out of the water.
So, I came home and went to Dock Docks, and got pointed to Splash Dogs when I inquired about Central Valley clubs. Thanks Greg for heading us in the right direction! :D
We look forward to meeting all of you!
Lori
