Solano County Fair

Could someone please clarify how the Solano County Fair is going to work. Looks like 4 waves per day, but it says Demo Show Only on the fair site. Then on Sunday it shows Finals @ 3PM.

Some clarfication surely would help everyone plan on when to attend the event.

It is a competition. It will be for the 5 days Wed - Sun. I will be there all 5 days as of right now and it will be alot of excitement and fun. I GUARANTEE it.

I figured that it would be normal....just confusing the way the Fair posted it. Will be great to have "THE VOICE" of Splash Dogs there!!!

So, the scoop with the "demo show only" thing is that the fair really wanted us to do a wave at 7:30pm. Tony was thinking that we were going to have trouble finding enough people who wanted to stick around that late so we decided we were going to do a demo and use Sierra, Jasper, Ren, and anyone else we could convince to stay. Last I heard (this is not official), I think Tony decided to make the 7:30 wave an official wave, however he was contemplating making it a free wave (i.e. no charge). If there's low turnout for the late wave (especially on the weekdays) we're thinking of putting up the super v rig after the 7:30 wave and letting some of the dogs get some practice in.

for me.....pending work schedule...the evening wave might be the one I can get to. Don't know what the traffic will be like from Livermore to Vallejo...

hi, all!
as a result of the fun janethedog and i had at the pittsburg event (VERY well run) we have just joined b.a.d.d.

jane's best was 10'4" (although i actually have a photo of her hitting the water at 29'...i think she figured out what it would take to win and cheated by running down the parallel dock!!). considering it was our first event and i had no idea how she would react, i was pleased and she had a great time and seemed to have found her calling. (she's a shelter dog, so i have no idea what her past life was like.)

anyway..i would love to bring her to vallejo. we can do all waves on wednesday and afternoon and evening on thursday, but have prior commitments for the weekend. i guess my (long-winded, sorry) question is: is this just going to be for you inspirational hot-shots or can we join in? i don't know about the tank, since we have only done marinas, but i'd sure like to come out and try.

Gunner, Twizzy and I will be at a flyball tournament in Truckee over that weekend, but will be looking forward to lots of updates, am sure one or two BADD members will post, right????

Any ideas on pet friendly hotels in Vallejo?

Motel 6's allow dogs, I believe super 8 allows dogs, La Quinta, quality inn and most best westerns as well. With all the hotels though, it's a good idea to confirm their policy and any extra fees they have when making your reservation.

I don't have any specifics on those chains in that area - maybe someone else does?

There are a couple of Motel 6's in the area as well as a Quality Inn and several others.
