I'M ON MY WAY THERE RIGHT NOW!!! I have to pick up Q from school and off we go!

I talked to Lisa, who was trying on shoes, but the salesguy apparently forgot about her. She had to go because she had to get out her can of Whoop A-- and track his butt down. As she said, "No one gets in the way of a woman and her shopping!"

Randy said, "We don't need anything for Tessa," to which I replied, "I DON'T CARE!! It's not a need . . . it's a WANT!"

As Linda raced out the door, credit card and directions to the new Bass Pro Shop in hand, Randy called after her and said...... "We Don't Need Anything For Tessa!".

Are you kidding me?

I got bored one day and made Chase a new collar out of a Hawaiian print fabric I had found. Then I found another fabric I liked and I made him another one and then another one, then another...... He now has 30 collars in various fabrics and colors and styles.

Does he need that many collars? Ummmmm........NO!

Moral of the story: Chase can wear a different collar every day of the month and I am still wearing the same pair of red trunks at every Splashdog event!!!

Need is not the deciding factor. Hopefully Linda will bring Randy back a new shirt!

SERIOUSLY, BROOKE! Does Tessa NEED snow boots? Maybe, maybe not, but she should have them! Does Chase need 30 collars? Maybe, maybe not, but he should have them! And the point is . . . . .????

I'll give my critique of the shop in just a little bit . . . stay tuned!

Spent about 2 hours in the store yesterday. I bought some shorts for me, a Dolphin book for Q, and some fudge for Randy [or so he thinks]. They had some really good prices on t-shirts and other random stuff. But, there are only TWO SHORT aisles devoted to dog things. Beds, camo vests, boots, leashes, bumpers, training gear for hunting, some rawhide treats, some DFT's.

The store is a little bit bigger than the one in Las Vegas, but it's got the same stuff: boats, guns, fishing gear, furniture, etc. But, the good thing is, they have plenty of room in the parking lot for a pool, dock, etc . . . . . .!!

Exactly! ENOUGH ROOM FOR A POOL & DOCK!!!!!

The thing we have to get across to the Bass Pro Shop Managers is that there are TONS of regular people who have money to spend who will NEVER EVER have any interest in going to a Bass Pro Shop. NEVER! They think it is about hunting, so they won't go...they think it is about fishing, so they won't go....they think it about hiking, so they won't go.....etc etc.

BUT, if they do end up at the store for some OTHER REASON (Splashdogs!), then they will see that it is a fun place for ANYONE to go to (climbing wall, huge aquarium, freshly made candy, etc). And, once they get inside, they will spend money.

That is where we ALL come in. All of these "regular" people who have no interest in going to a Bass Pro Shop, may very well have A LOT OF INTEREST in seeing dogs jump into water. WHY? because they can "relate" to it.

I can remember seeing agility on the television and thinking that there was no way my dog could do that. But, when I saw the dogs jumping off a dock on ESPN, I thought "Hey Chase CAN do that, and I want to TRY that." The rest is history and I imagine that is how and why all of the rest of you also got into Splashdogs.

So, once the Bass Pro Shop managers understand that Splashdogs can bring in masses of people who would NEVER go to the store normally, but will come to see a "dog jump into water", hopefully they will see that it is INEXPENSIVE advertsing.

We will see. I am going to check it out Saturday morning and then on to the Orange County Fair in the afternoon. Linda, do you want to meet me at the Fair with your husband and my boyfriend, Quinn? Oops, sorry Ursuala, I know he is your boyfriend also, so I mean Ursula and my boyfriend, Quinn.
