Effective beginning with the Wags For Wishes event, Splash Dogs is going to begin "paying" volunteers for their time with Splash bucks. You will earn 10 Splash Bucks for each 2 hour period worked at an event. Splash Bucks can be used to purchase splash dogs merchandise or put towards wave or practice fees.
We are hoping to organize our volunteers better going forward. At large events there will be a volunteer coordinator (Ursula Kinley for Wags). The coordinator will have a schedule and can put you down for as many 2 hour blocks as you're willing to work! The coordinator will also ensure that you receive your splash bucks after your shift.
We hope that this will help to ensure that things are more standard for volunteer compensation and that this will also help to make sure that a single person does not get "stuck" at a job all day!
