Hershey and I will be there to try again on night one. If he gets into the water even once we may go ahead and sign up for a couple more waves.

I'll be with the one eyed brown clown. I think things will go better this time as Hershey has become more mature in the last 6 months and responds better in situations.

Yes being older always helps
Miss Matches my 3 year old yellow lab would not jump 2 years ago... She would sit at the end of the dock and bark at the toy wave after wave
It got quite a laugh..
now she pops off 18 footers almost everytime and has even hit the 20 mark a few times!
There will be lots of people willing to help you get Hershey in the water just ask!!:P

hiya! :) jane (the flying footstool) and i will be there wednesday and the last half of thursday...looking forward to meeting all of you.
i have a question, if anyone might know: in the event info it says that the gates open at 11 and that's when check-in is. if the first wave is at 11:45, there isn't much time to get through the gate and find out where the pool is (i tried on the fair web-site, but was unsuccessful), check in, and have a little practice. since this is only our second event, i'm not yet sure about how all this works.
if we are on the pre-registered list, can we go earlier and get in as exhibitors?
any info would be much appreciated!

Splash Dogs
July 11-15, 2007
Dear Jim,
Splash Dogs is excited to see you at the Solano County Fair this week! This email has information on wave schedules and entry to the fair.
Thank you for pre-registering for the Splash Dogs Dock Jumping Competition at the Solano County Fair! We will have waves at 11:45AM, 1:45PM, 3:45PM, and 7:30PM Wednesday-Saturday and at 11:45AM on Sunday. Our 7:30PM waves are free and will count as a regular wave as far as titles and qualifying for the finals. Remeber to check in for each wave 1 hour before the wave (except the 11:45AM wave which you must check in for by 30 minutes prior since we do not open until 11AM). Also, we will be having a handlers meeting for each wave 15 minutes before the wave begins that you must attend.
The Open Finals will be at 1:45PM on Sunday and the Pro Finals will be at 3PM. We will take the top 12 dogs overall from the competition for the Pro Finals and the next 12 dogs (#13-24) for the Open Finals. You must check in for the finals by noon on Sunday. If teams have not checked in by noon, then we will take the next team on the list (so please stick around even if you're not in the top 24!).
We are not mailing out parking passes as previously announced. Instead we will have your name on a list at the fair. Competitors must enter through the Sage gate, off of Fairgrounds Dr. and get parking and entry credentials through the Sage gate.
Looking forward to seeing all of you. It should be a great event!
Sincerely,
The Splash Dogs Team

p.s. jane's the dog. she *can* read, of course, but she gets no more on-line time until she can prove to me that she won't email that boy cockerdoodle in peoria ever again. ;)

Here are a few updates for the Solano County Fair.
Competitors will be able to enter the fair (through the Sage gate) as of 9am. The pool will open for practice at 10am. Registration will also begin at 10am.
There is a shaded area for crating. If you need to borrow a cart to bring your equipment in, come on in to the Splash Dogs area and we will have a cart available.
See you all soon!
Sincerely,
The Splash Dogs Team

I have a few updates on parking and directions that I just received and wanted to pass along.
To get to the Sage gate, take 80E towards Sacramento. Take the exit to 37 to Napa. The first exit is Fairgrounds Drive. Take this and go left under the freeway. You will then turn left on Sage by a Courtyard Marriot. Go to the gate and give them your name. I have put all the pre-registered competitors names on the list.
You will be able to drive in to the pool to unload at the shaded crating area. You will then need to remove your car back to the parking lot which is not too far.

Just a reminder that our new Splash Bucks for volunteering policy is in effect for the Vallejo event. You will receive 10 Splash Bucks for each 2 hour shift worked at an event. Please stop by and see Wendy or Tony if you are interested in helping out at the event! We can always use volunteers to help with wrangling, registration and merchandise sales. Splash Bucks can be redeemed for merchandise or wave/practice fees!

Just a few updates...
1) The 11:45am wave will be at 11:30am
2) The 11:30am wave is filling quickly. We must complete the wave by 12:30pm to allow the neighboring high dive act to take place. There will be a limit on the number of entries. If you are not pre-registered, please arrive early to ensure your spot in the wave. Also remember to check in by 10:30 even if you are pre-registered.
3) Here is the bubble as of wave 16 (the end of saturday). If you plan on competing in the finals, please check in by noon. The Open Finals are at 1:45pm, the Pro Finals are at 3pm.
