Jillie was a joy. She is only 6 months old and Jack (her dad) jumped her for the first time in a wave on Friday. She jumped about 8 feet.

Jack and Jillie returned on Saturday, and this time Jillie's Mom, Katie, also came so she could see what all the fuss was about. Jillie jumped in 4 events on Saturday with a personal best of around 10 1/2 feet and all three of them hung out in our tent between heats.

Jack, Katie, and Jillie returned again on Sunday and IMMEDIATELY informed us that they:
1) had already booked hotel reservations for the Cynopsports in Scottsdale,
2) were looking into trading in their new Lexus for an SUV to carry a kennel,
3) needed to buy a new higher speed digital camera so they could catch the action better.

On Friday morning, this family knew little to nothing about Splashdogs, and by Sunday morning they were trading in a car and scheduling vacations around Splashdog events. Don't you just love the effect this sport has on people!

By the way, little Jillie earned her Splash Title on Sunday.

Yep..For right now we are shopping for soft crates, tents, floor mats, coolers and telling everyone about Splash Dogs...
We are also currently lurking about the neighborhood-sizing up the swimming pools...

they caught a shark in the bay in Long Beach today, so no practicing there!

SOOO Much FUN!

Hey, hey, hey, WAIT! A SHARK???? Was it near the dog beach by Belmont Plaza Pool? Cindy, we may have to hang out somewhere else!

Jillie is the cutest thing EVER! But then again, I'm partial to little girl blabs! Congratulations on getting your title!

Oh, THAT'S not embarrassing. And I call myself a journalist. But, in my own defense, I don't watch TV news. So there! Thanks, Brooke!

I did not watch the news piece, I just heard the news anchors announcing it when I was walking into the room. Hope the link provided some information to better pinpoint where the shark was actually found. Don't want any "Jaws" music following Tessa and Sadie when they are in the water!

The shark was a harmless Blue Shark. Blue sharks are much like Labs; all they want is a few pets and treats. Seriously, the blues are nothing too worry about. When the media starts reporting Makos and Whites then you might want to consider another beach.

Yep..Brooke, you are like me..I just new it was about 6 or 8 feet long and it was shown from the air and it looked "sharky" to me ...didn't hear what kind
No thank you to any of them ....black labs look like pup seals to those dudes!

Thank you very much....I have never been to that beach area but I am glad I mentioned it since you gals "hang there"..Jillie is such a short jumper now-the neighbors pool is workin' great..when she gets near the other side-we'll be heading for the beach/dock.
Thanks for the congrats-she's pretty excited about all this fun stuff!

I haven't figured out if you saw my note but I don't go there-just saw the shark on the news and thought that is not a good thing -glad I mentioned it..
We are happy now training in the neighbors pool and she'll get to go to the Montage Hotel Beach early sometimes (before 8) in the Summer to beach swim.
I hope all is well with you and Sweet Sadie..

I asked our OC/Long Beach reporter about the shark. He said it was in Alamitos Bay, so it's nowhere near the dog beach at Belmont Shore. Our reporter -- who happens to have his boat docked in Alamitos Bay -- said he saw it and it was no big deal, just like Craig said.

So our girls are safe!

I'm so glad we've got some new members to our Splash Dog family. We were glad to share our 'camp' with Jack, Jilly & Katie and I'm looking forward to Jilly & Phoebe being good friends. Jilly is an awesome little girl and she was jumping better than Dunkin at his first event(once we got him into the water)- wow!
And she's just so cute. Marty got some great pix of her I'm sending your way.

Tony & Mark, thanks for bringing us the opportunity to bring wishes for the kids. And, I was honored to have Brianne throw for Dunkin.
Wendy, Urs, MIke and everyone- thanks for all the hard work & volunteering you did to make it all happen so smoothly. I was glad to be a part of it all.

Hi Marilyn,
Thank you for your nice note...Big thank you to you and Marty for all your help, ideas, and photography. Besides getting to know you 2, we also enjoyed getting to know Phoebe and Dunkin'. I know Jillie will have lots of fun with them in the future.
I hope all goes well for you on Monday. Maybe Marty will post to let us know how you are doing ?
Take it easy- rest and mend.
