View Full Version : Posting Times Question?

I have a odd question. When I post something at 11:06AM, why does it say it was posted at 6:06PM? That is a difference of 7 hours. I live in California, so I could understand if the time is Eastern Standard Time and thus three hours different, but why is it seven hours off? Just wondering? Anybody know?

You probably need to go into your "Edit Option" in your User CP and set the time zone you live in. It's probably set to the wrong zone.

Howie is correct. The default is set to Greenwich Mean Time [GMT], which is a seven hour difference from us in the summer. It's 8 hours in the winter. Now, if I could only get the day of the week straight, I'd be in great shape!

Yes, that's it. It was Tuesday in Greenwich, so you were right all along Linda! See, it's that reporter gene in you, always ahead of the story!

Thank you Howie - I noticed this a long time ago and just let it be... but now I'm in my timezone :-)

I am confused. I thought it had to do with the Splashdogs web page. Are you saying it has to do with my own computer?
Because, the clock in the bottom righthand corner of my computer says that it is 1:05pm PST which is the correct time for me. If I click on it, then it says it is ALREADY set for GMT Pacific Time.
So, where do I go to change the time so that it shows the correct time on the message boards? Where is the "edit option in my user CP" that Howie is referring to?

You click on "User CP" at the blue bar at the top of this page (left side) and that will take you to where your profile setting are. Then you click on "Edit Options" in the "Settings and Options" area on the left side bar. Then go down towards the bottom and you'll see the time setting in the "Date and Time" section.
Hope that helps :-)

WOW! Great explanation Howie. I had no idea all of that information existed.
Thanks.
