ALERT: To EVERYONE who goes to the new Bass Pro Shop in Rancho Cucamonga, or to ANY Bass Pro Shop in the U.S., be SURE TO WEAR A SPLASHDOGS t-shirt when you go there!!!!!!!

Bass Pro Shops have already held some of our Splashdog events at their locations this year, so let's try to get them to sponsor more of them. We need YOU to be part of this and let them know that we are a BIG group and will show up in BIG numbers if they have an event. WIN-WIN for them and for us. They get an event that will pull in customers and we wil get an opportunity to jump!

If we always wear our shirts when we are there, they will notice them and then be more open to hold an event there. If you happen to RUN into the Manager in Rancho Cucamongs or go out of your way to speak with him, BE SURE to tell him that they are MANY of us Splashdog jumpers and we CANNOT WAIT until he has an event there.

They are also going to open up new stores in Northern California as well as across the U.S.

SO, BE SURE TO WEAR THOSE SPLASHDOG SHIRTS WHEN YOU GO!!!!!

Thanks,

Brooke & Chase

If you really want to get attention put the shirt on your dog and walk around the store. Better yet, have Mickey D perform a marketing routine for Splashdogs!

The Bass Pro Shop in Garland Tx contacted me and asked if I would do Gun dog Demonstrations at the fall hunting classic Aug. 4 & 5. I agreed to do them but I also asked for two other favors, One being that they would let Delta Waterfowl set up with me to advertise the upcoming banquet and would they consider a splash dogs event here.
They quickly agreed to letting Delta set up but said that the splash dog event was too costly.
I have been bugging them for about a month now about it and I think I have them considering it.
During the Aug. 4 & 5 event it would be great if some of you from here in the South showed up and asked why they are not having a Splash dog event. The more people ask the more likely they are to respond.
Ask for Lisa Bryn (the promotions manager)or Paula Redden (the store manager)
I will be there all day both days and any of you wearing Splash dog t-shirts are welcome to hang out with the V.I.P. Kennels and Delta Waterfowl crowd.
I am also working on Gander Mt. in Sherman Tx so anyone in that area be sure to drop by and ask for John Campbell and express your desire to have a Splash dogs event.

Good luck and hope to see you there

Craig, I am afraid MickyD is booked solid for the next six months way to many engagements but how about Maximus oh he might cost too much!

Looks like we will definitely need to be campaigning up here as well. Two Bass Pro Shops will be opening in Manteca and in Sacramento in the near future!

If anyone see's any updates on these shops definitely keep us posted.

Rich, thanks for the update on the Texas shops. It's interesting to hear they think it would be too expensive. I would think having 25, 50 or 75 more people in front of your store might be worth it. But, you make a great point: the more they hear from us -- from all around the nation -- the more their doubts will go away!

When I went to the Bass Pro Shop In Rancho Cucamonga, I asked to speak with the Promotions Manager. She had not arrived at the store yet, so I talked with two very nice women in Customer Serive and explained to them that the name Bass Pro Shop is already well known by the hunter and fishermen crowd, but they will need something more "mainstream" to get people like me, who is not interested in hunting and fishing, to find a reason to come to the store.

I explained that a Splashdogs event will appeal to the general public and since it is RIGHT on the freeway, they will see the dogs in the parking lot jumping into the pool, and will pull over to see what is going on and then once there, they will go into the store. Then, once in the store, they will see that it has more to offer than just hunting and fishing.

The Customer Service ladies totally understood what I was saying, so I would suggest that when the stores open up in Northern California, that you take that same tack with them. The more of us who talk to the Promotions Manager in Rancho Cucamonga, the more likely she will see that we will DELIVER on our promise and make it beneficial for them to hold an event.

One point to bring up that I found made managers stop and think was when I stated that I have competed in many events in several different states and one thing I have noticed is that once a store does it once they always do it again.
From a business perspective if it did not bring in money they would not do it again (but they usually do) because business is business and this sport brings in money.

Where do you get your Splash Dog merchandise? Is it just offered at the event?

Splashdogs is currently working on selling merchandise through the site but unfortunately at the moment they can only be purchased at events.
