Ok guys, we're in the midst of planning for Cynosports and it would be of great help to me if I had an idea of how many people were planning on coming for the world championships. I can estimate based on how many people are qualified, but it would help to get an idea of who's actually planning on making the trip.

So - who's planning on (or even thinking about) coming?

Renegade, Jasper and I will be there...

We will be there with Andy. Unfortunatley we won't be able to make it until Saturday morning/afternoon. To bad Octavio and I aren't allowed vacation 4 months a year and November happens to be one of those. =(

Hello all,

We need your help to make Cynosports a great event! We can't do events this big without the help of volunteers. If you're able to help us out, please fill out the form at: http://splashdogs.com/events/register/volunteer.php

We will also of course accept volunteers on site if you find yourself with some downtime.

As usual at our events, you will earn Splash Bucks for your volunteer hours. You will earn 10 Splash Bucks for each 2 hour shift worked. Splash Bucks are valid for Splash Dogs merchandise and Splash Dogs waves/practice fees. Splash Bucks may be used at any time after your shift is worked.

Unfortunately we are not able to accept splash bucks for the 2007 awards dinner or the splash dogs world championships (nov 3-4). We will be accepting splash bucks for the cynosports dock jumping challenge though (Oct 31-Nov 3)!

Cynosports is coming!

It's looking to be a fun filled event with lots of great people from all over the nation!

So far we have people registered from 9 different states including CA, NV, AZ, MI, IL, WA, MO, NY, UT. I've also heard from someone in VA contemplating coming out!

We have 79 different handlers pre-registered for the week with 101 different dogs for 425 wave entries (that's 850 jumps at 2 jumps per wave). And that's just the pre-registrations!

We have 17 different breeds registered including: chessies, labs, mixed breed, flat coats, curly coats, rottie, bc, goldens, pit bulls, duck tollers, staffies, gsp, dobie, prt, acd, mal and weimaraner!

aaah Wendy....I have a question for you. At what event had the most breeds represented? Is that something you can pull from all your data?

Inquiring minds want to know.... :-)

Since this is a USDAA event probably lots and lots of border collies!

In the past I've done mostly AKC agility - there are a lot of border collies in the 20 and 24" height classes, but you also see a lot of other breeds. Since I've been doing USDAA more lately with Ren I've been surprised at the bias to border collies. Taking statistics from the Bay Team Regional trial over labor day, there were 216 border collies out of 529 dogs! That includes all the small dogs too. The next closest breed was aussies with 58. And get this - only 8 goldens and 8 labs out of the 529 dogs!
