Hey all,
I've been working behind the scenes to build and now continue to improve the splash dogs database. I'm slowly pushing out a new registration system (that will not look all that different to you for now) that will be storing your registration info in a database for me so that I don't have to wade through emails.
My request to you - it will make my life WAY easier if you can please fill out the form completely (OK, you can skip the story and tell me about your dog part :cool:) when you register. If you leave out city, state, your last name, etc, my program will assume that you are a new person who doesn't know where you live :D and I will have to go manually update the database to tell it who you really are. Also, if you go by multiple names (i.e. Dave, David, Davy), try to use the same one each time if you can remember what you usually use.
In exchange I offer you some info on what will be coming in 2008! I hope to have something ready in the next few months that will allow you to login to your splash dog account. With this login you will be able to update your and your dog's personal information and then when you register, you will just login and it will all be filled in for you! Additionally we will be adding features to allow you to view your dog's results for all time with this login. Down the road we also hope to allow you to make this information public if you wish and allow you to add pictures. We will then have a section of the website where people can go to view information on our competitors (I believe Tony is calling this the "Dog House".
Additionally, later in 2008 I hope to provide easier options for telling us information about your dog's other hobbies, interests, etc and then provide a smooth way to get this information to the announcer. The "tell me about your dog" box will finally be used!
