I've just posted a new tool on the website at:
http://splashdogs.com/events/results/SDCompTools.php
(http://splashdogs.com/events/results/SDCompTools.php)There is a link to this tool from the Splash Stats page.

What does this tool do for you?

Well, have you ever wanted to look at all your team's results for all time, or just for a single year?

Have you wanted to look at all the results for a single dog with multiple handlers?

Have you wanted to look at all the results for a single handler and all their dogs?

This is the tool for you!

If you wish to view all dogs for a given handler, simply leave the dog's field blank and enter the handler's last name.

If you wish to view all handlers for a dog, simply leave the handler field blank and enter the dog name.

Just a hint, if you're unsure how your dog's name or your name is entered in the database, just put the first part of the name (there is a wildcard automatically put on the end). If you wish to be fancy and use wildcards, put in a % instead of the more standard star for the wildcard character.

For those of you with common names, you will get some extra results (I apologize).

If you find problems or have questions, please email me at:
info@splashdogs.com!

And yet another tool while I fight my insomnia for the 4th night in a row!
http://splashdogs.com/events/results/breedTool.php

Also linked from the splash stats page.

This tool allows you to list results by breed, by year.

It can be used to answer questions such as:
How do my dog's jumps rank with other dogs of the same breed for all time?
How do my dog's jumps rank with other dogs of the same breed this year?
How does my dog's best jump rank with other dogs of the same breed best jump?

Only limitation is that you must specify either a specific breed or a specific year. (Using this tool if you did this you would get all splash dogs results for all time and our webhosting guy would be very upset with me for the bandwidth we were sucking up!)

Email to: info@splashdogs.com with questions, problems, etc.

What do you want to see as far as features on our website? I'm mostly thinking regarding data/statistics (i.e. results, etc) right now, but I'm open to hearing other suggestions at the same time.

I'm trying to plan my todo list for 2008! The backend pieces are starting to fall into place! The database is built and fairly complete and self sufficient now.

I have the ability to create more tools like the 2 above - just need to know what statistics/data you want to look at. Or if you don't think that way, what questions would you like to be able to answer. An example is:
What is the total distance my dog has jumped (summing all jumps) with splash dogs? Try to keep these questions to things that multiple people would really want to know vs random trivia ones like the above question (unless inquiring minds really need to know!)

Current definite items on the todo list include finally finishing the registration program I've been working on so we can ditch the excel spreadsheet (and great cheers of rejoicing were heard from all who have used it!). Also, I plan on creating a section of splash dogs where competitors can log in and update their personal and dog's personal information as well as view your team's results, standings, etc. Once logged in, you will be able to register for events without filling in all that info again! I also hope to add the ability to prepay for events/waves online using your credit card and I know Ursula is working on an online store for splash dogs merchandise.

On my later todo list include adding all the "extra" dog info like I collected for cyno world championships into our database and then extending the registration tool to be able to create "announcer" sheets in running order order with all this extra info at events! Also on the later todo list is the ability for you to make your team info public and add pictures and personal comments.

Wow! This is great! I love that you love stats and numbers and stuff! So efficient!

So, does this mean Tessa gets a junior title with me? I wasn't sure I had enough junior jumps. It's the only title I have with her. Randy's got the other big ones!

Wendy, that is just fantastic.
One thing I would love to see added to the registration information is a place to mark wether or not your dog is a rescue. I think it is great that we have so many successful rescue dogs jumping and it would be nice if we could track that as well.

I really enjoyed the feature where you could see jump results by breed for all years :-).

P.S. INSOMNIA...I suggest a good back rub. If you can't get a nice back rub, then i would suggest hitting the bottle. Then finish it off with a glass of milk.
