SplashDog Friends (My best Pal is TRUMAN the pup of the ever famous SARGE - Amanda's Boy),

This is my first post here so a brief update. My first jumping event was SRS in New Orleans 2004 with my girl Reagan (who is retired) I met the amazing Amanda and Sarge along the way. Her boy Sarge gave me Truman. So here you go. Truman is no longer a wiry little boy, but has turned into a full blown muscle machine and my road racing partner. Reagan has slowed down a bit but still loves to jump at the city docks and often accompanies me on my cool down jogs. And our little girl Alex has turned into the master of the two dog circus (when not acting like one herself – see the picture) I am only hoping that our little one that we are expecting in March can hang with the hounds as well as big sis.

Hey all,
I want to send out a request for support in my upcoming marathon. As some of you know, I am running in the Marine Corps Marathon in two weeks. I am running the race with Team Fisher House (www.fisherhouse.org), a great organization that supports the families of our wounded men and women in the armed forces. So far, with so many individuals/families generous support, I have raised almost 1300 dollars! All team participants together have raised well over 250,000!! Which is absolutely amazing!! I am looking to make one final push to help out so many military families that have made the ultimate sacrifice for us. I am challenging some of the most patriotic and generous people I know to give their support in the form of a entry fee for one wave (10-20$) or more if you can to support our American families and Fisher House. If you can do it, I can do it. Over the next week if my donation totals double, I will double my own personal contribution! I encourage you to find any and all that will support. Can one DockDogger Club give more than another? Make your donation on behalf of your DD club or your own high flying pooch and have it on the wall of fame for all to see!! One final push as we make a difference in so many special families’ lives. What great feeling to have as we begin to enter the season of thanks and giving. Don't lose that giving feeling!

For those that donate you will receive a link to the Marine Corps Marathon’s “Track your Runner.” You will be able to track my progress live on your computer the day of the race. That link will be forwarded at the beginning of next week. Also, a special thank you will be mailed out after the race. All Donations are tax deductible.

Thus far I have logged well over 397 miles since my training began in earnest at the end of June. There were some difficult stretches when the heat was up in the 100s and just recently in the 90s. But I did it, (with Truman and sometimes Reagan) at my side. I believe that I am totally ready for this, and I finished my final "long" run today of just over 23 miles. I will now start tapering in order to let my body prepare for the race. My goal is to come in under 3 hours and 20 minutes, but my knees may have something to say about that. Below is the link to my donation website. Those that lend their support will receive another email early next week providing a link to the MCM website that will allow to view my actual progress on the day of the race. I want to thank my wife and daughter for their support and the Good Lord for giving me the strength to make good things happen. And I truly want to thank you so much for your support and allowing me to represent all of us while running in support of a great organization.

Take a look at the pics, you will see Truman in his running shoes (www.ruffwear.com) And a few more pics to see how time has changed us all.

Let’s All Make a difference in a big way!

I hope to have a strong following on the dace of the race, via internet, and hope I have a lot of special thanks yous to get out after the race!!

God Bless You All

Alright!!
I am here to give CoachHewson a little added incentive to hit his GOAL!!!!!!
As stated by you, your goal is to be under 3hrs. and 20 minutes.
Well I say this...............
If you in fact go under 3hrs. and 20 minutes NW AirDogs (and friends) needed some more help for this one) Will in fact DOUBLE our previous donation of $150 making it $300
BUT,
You pushing it so far as being carted to the E-room will void the challenge!
For I know personally how the Corps gets in your blood and makes you able to push further than ever!! OOH RAW!!!

ALSO I encourage everyone else to help push this motivated unselfish giver to his GOAL!!
{GOALS} Make one Then Achieve it!!
Then what the heck make another and GO FOR IT!!!!!!
Had to bring this reply over here and see how everyone here would react

Trina,
Wow! Thank you. But even moreso, thank you for raising a child that is serving for our great nation. I promise to stay locked on and run with pride for all the Moms out there with children serving our country.

Keep your eyes open for the Track your runner link, coming next week.

Bless you.

Corey & Truman & Reagan!

You know you have our total support!! PayDay is tomorrow--so you'll have our support for sure then! ;-) First let me purchase dogfood for my pups--then it's donation time for you and your pups! :-)

I know you've had this goal for a long time--I think you started talking about it 2 years ago? I'm so very proud of what you've accomplished in the last few months with your dedication and training. I knew that when Sarge's boy Truman was going to be headed home to you and Heather that he'd have a very happy and blessed life!! You're such a role model for great things to do with your dog and give back to something important at the same time! Our lives with our dogs is MORE than just about "this sport" and you've proven that to me, to us readers time and time again.

Who knew that way back in February of 2004 that our lives would take us all these crazy directions??!!! And now you've got this great task ahead of you and Truman (and Regs!)--all that you've dedicated yourself to selflessly. When I help out with the K9 Cancer drive--I sit and hold a speed gun--you, you're putting on the miles and touching lives with every run you take past people with the dogs and they see your committment to that cause!

I wanted to share some pictures of when you and Heather first got Truman and you guys trying to hold him and Reagan while they were trying to decide if they should check each other out or not! ;-) Warms my heart! Talk about a day of THANKSGIVING my friend!! :-) And I added a picture of Sarge and the wee Truminator when he was only about 9 weeks old.

I think you are doing a very patriotic thing, so put me in for $20.
My older Brother spent a year in Iraq serving our country. I am very proud of my BIg BRo! Although we had different fathers (his died when Richard was 7),
we still grew up together, and i still look up to him for his love and leadership.
Lt. Col. Richard Allinger fell in love with an Iraqi woman while serving in Iraq. Richard and my Sister-n- Law Zena are on the cover of the Oct. 22, 2007 issue of Newsweek.
It is a very nice article, and talks about the struggles people go through to be with the ones they love.

Corey--we just made a donation and it looks like you're at the $1,914.07 mark and the goal is $2000. C'mon everyone--donate even just $5 and make sure Corey reaches his goal! We've all proven our testament to the K9 Cancer cause...there are needs everywhere! Even one of our "own" dog jumper competitors is coming home soon from overseas and she can't wait to compete again--let's help out the families of our soldiers!

Good luck Corey! We'll get you to that $2000 mark! :-)

ps. I almost forgot--CONGRATS Bart on Richard making the front cover of Newsweek! What a great honor for him and his wife--and yes--a very good testament to power of love to overcome struggles.

Only a week ago I was sitting just above 1100. I can't believe the outpouring of support for a final big push. Just a few more donations could reach the mark where my family DOUBLES our own contribution. This whole effort just goes to show that dogs and their people are some of the best around. Thanks so much for the effort guys.
By Thursday I will be posting the link so you all can track my progress on Sunday morning - That will be 4am for you WestCoasters!!! Looks like Mamosas and Bloody Marys for breakfast. Toast me to a good Run

Wish I had Truman by my side running like always, but I think I might be even better off with All of your Spirits and Generosity pushing me home. This is a wonderful gesture to so many that need it more than us. We all run for them on Sunday!

Good Things and God Bless.
