Flyin' Hawaiian

First a STANDING OVATION goes to SplashDogs, Tony Reed, Mark Stuart, Randy Woods, Greg, JR, Amanda, Lisa, Becky and all the volunteers (Mary will stop with the names because she knows sheíll forget someone) for an outstanding event at Wags for Wishes.
Our favorite moments this past weekend were watching the Wish Kids try their hands at jumping dogs off the dock. When Kaíua was up on the dock giving her Wish Kid kisses as she waited for her to throw her toy, and then laughing and cheering as she watched Kaíua jump in the water, brought tears of joy and warmth to our hearts. Thank you for bringing those joyous moments to such special children.
We are still overwhelmed at our induction to the SplashDogs Hall of Fame. It didnít quite sink in until the long drive home to Reno. We want to thank everyone involved in making us the first inductees. We are humbled to be placed in such an honored position for doing something we just love to do, going out and having fun with our furry kids.
Little did we know seven years ago that we would end up meeting such a great group of people with an equally great group of dogs, just by rescuing one little sad looking pink dog that nobody wanted. We know itís a story that you hear over and over from anyone who has rescued a dog . . .who knew rescuing a dog would change our lives in such a fun, positive and exciting way.
Kaíua still has a few more venues to compete in Northern California and Northern Nevada, and lots of weekend practices at Sparks Marina before we take the drive to LA at the end of November and 5+ hour flight to Hawaii on December 1st. We then hope to find somewhere to jump in Hawaii until Kaíua desires to jump no more.
We invite all of you to join us at the Tamarack Junction High Desert DockDogs Challenge, a SplashDogs Event, August 24th through August 27th. It will be on the SplashDogs website soon for registration.
It has been a pleasure to watch all our furry friends have so much fun, and a privilege to be a part of your lives. If we donít see you on the docks, mahalo (thank you) for all the encouragement, well wishes and memories. You will always be in our hearts. Remember, jump big, but most of all HAVE LOTS OF FUN!:D :)
Aloha pumehana,
