OK, it's crazy busy, here - I have 2 seconds to post a quick update.

Event is going well - tons of dogs... World Championships are tomorrow.

Stryker won EV worlds today with a jump of 7'0" - 13 EV dogs in the field.

Henry set a new splash dogs world record with a jump of 26'11" today with Russell Wallach.

We had a lap dog set a new lap dog record of 19'10" (a parson russell terrier named Sting handled by Mindy Lytle).

I am back in my "real" job now and wanted to say THANKS to everyone who participated, worked and supported the Splash Dogs Cynosport Dock Jumping Challenge and World Chamionships this year. We had a lot of support from everyone throughout the week and we couldn't have done it w/out everyone.

I was awarded the Gabe Sportsmanship Award on Saturday evening at the Awards Dinner and as you all know, I was a little too emotional to say much at the dinner. Todd and Gabe have inspired me from the first moment I saw them on the dock. This is an enormous honor, and to have been nominated with the group of people I was nominated with, was an honor in itself. In 2007, I shared so many wonderful memories with you all, with this award being one of the greatest. Thank you.....Sandra - it meant so much to me to have you present this award to me, THANK YOU....

I'd like to send a huge congrats to Tracy and Kona and to Russell and Henry (also to Tang and Barbara) 26'11" is one incredible jump and to see two dogs do it in one weekend, was a once in a lifetime kind of event. We saw many new PB's this weekend, special congrats to all of you who set new ones in Super Air as well as Super Vertical. I would like to share my own PB brag, our little BorderJack Vandal hit several 14's this weekend w/a top jump of 14'7", not bad at all for a little one year old pup.

Huge THANK YOU to Craig - the dinner was awesome, great slideshow and atmosphere!

I hope you all had a wonderful time this past weekend! But I will admit, it was quite nice to come home to cooler temps, regular meal schedules and my very hyperactive boy Gunner....

Oskar and I had an absolute blast too!!! The West Coast crew is a great group, and I'm so glad we got to be a part of the World Championship this year.

I second what Urs said, thank you so much to everyone who worked so hard to make this a great event! It was also pretty cool to see some of these big jumpers doing their thing in person, you guys have some serious Chessies out there!

Craig, that was a great awards banquet and dinner, thanks so much for putting that all together. I had fun with everyone on Saturday night, but I don't know if we should ever go back to Sugardaddies ; )

Now I have to try and adjust to temps in the 30's and snow.......it's been a real shock to the system!

Next ya'll need to come out east for an event!

Ursula after Todd was inducted into the Hall of Fame I must admit I was pretty emotional...was I crying, I know I was inside! It was quite an honor to be asked to make this presentation, as I know how honored you must feel. Congratulations to you!
I want to thank everyone who voted for me for the Cheerleading award and of course for Jim with Most Entertaining on the Dock. MickeyD proved to be very entertaining the only thing is he decided to do his funny show in the semi-finals and was dancing around the dock like an idiot!! Did not make the top 12!
We had a fabulous time. I had to pace myself and that's why I was not there cheering everyone on on Saturday. Wanted to make that party at Rock Bottom.
Now that was a great time. Craig (or shall I call him the future Mr. Gabe) did a fabulous job on the sllide show and arranging everything! We had a wonderful wonderful time.
I know how hard all of you worked and we want you to know how much we appreciate all of your hard work!
Thanks again to everyone. You put on a fabulous event!
Hugs to all!

I totally flaked out in my original post, I really wanted to thank Barb and her sister Jen for working so hard all week on the raffles!!! You guys ROCK! And Barb, in preparation for the event, gathering stuff for sponsors so we could get some prizes out to the competitors. If ya'll liked that, come on out to the Rock Classic----the raffle was just a small taste of what happens at the Rock Classic!

Barb - YOU ROCK! The raffle was fantastic and just when I thought you were done, more raffle prizes came out. You and Jen did a phenominal job on that, thank you so much for coming through!

Also a big thanks to Sara, for the cinch-it collars(which Maximus loves) and the loopies toys she brought out as well. Barb, Jen, and Sara did an excellent job getting prizes with the money going to the Escondido humane society. I was glad to meet Barb and Jen, we had a good time all week. Next year, we will make sure to stop and eat at the PINK TACO!!!!!!!

Hey all,
Just got the results from cynosports loaded in the db and updated the breed records, 2008 rankings (which this event counted towards) and titles updated.

I'll be getting the html generated for the results in the next few hours and adding the link from the results page.

Also - right now the breed records page is currently only setup to show a single overall splash dogs record holder. I'll be trying to make the update to the code to allow for multiple record holders in the next few days (sorry tracy & kona!). The breed record section does show multiple record holders at least :)

Thanks to Wendy and Urs working their tails off in the registration area, and Brian and David keeping things entertaining in the tent announcing and judging. A great job done by all.

Urs, if you ever want a break from your real job, you and I can go out on the comedy tour. We will be the only ones thinking we are funny, but that's okay.

Urs, it must have been the microphone. Maybe it wasn't working properly and only those on the home crew heard it!!!

More importantly, I think we should put Seth (Hershey's Kiss) in charge of getting everyone to the Handler's Meetings from now on. He is the most attentive AND he even showed up when his father had already "scratched" him from the Wave. Vince, Seth was not happy about that. He wanted to jump! Such a great kid.

Just wanted to add my thanks to everyone for such a wonderful event. A very big thank you to Urs, Wendy, Brian, Dave, Andy, Jenny, Sara, and of course Tony for working so hard during the event. I know I was exhausted just from being there all week so I can't imagine how you all did everything you did. I also want to say thanks to Barb and her sister Jen for bringing out all those great raffle prizes. It was a really nice touch for so many people and the 50/50 raffle was for a great cause. I'd also like to thank all of you on the planning committee who spent sooo much time thinking of lots of ways to make this event extra special. The awards dinner was one of the best I have been to and the event itself was outstanding. I can't wait until next year.
I also want to say thanks to everyone who voted for Spud. It means so much to me that my buddy is still out there doing what he loves and to get this award is truly amazing. I also want to give a shout out to all the wonderful veteran dogs that were nominated along with us, you too are very much deserving. It was great to see so many veteran dogs still out there having fun. I'd also like to congratulate all the other award winners, there are too many to list but congratulations to all!
One final thank you goes out to my driving buddy Jenny, who made 12 hour drive a whole lot easier.

Hi everybody

I want to thank Wendy for putting on such a well organized event. Everyone that worked up in registration, thanks to all of you guys, too.Sara,Jenny, it was good meeting you & JJ up at the desks. Dave + Mark did a great job of announcing, as did Urs & Wendy.Andy, what stamina to spend the day at the newbie pool + all you're other jobs! And Brian, as always, you're "the Man". You did a great job of trying to juggle scoring & handling several dogs. I especially appreciate you handling Phoebe on Wed.
Urs, in addition to all you're other duties, you did a great job of handling for Phoebe on Thurs(even tho the records indicate Marty handled her that day :)
Speaking of Marty, I was so proud of him for doing everything for me and he did great-and he said he learned alot. I guess that means not to fall into the pool like I did my first weekend event.
He got a PB with Dunkin, of 16' 3",which everyone who knows Dunkin thinks that is unbelievable. Jordan did a great job handling Dunkin with Marty, too, as a junior handler, so thanks! Next time, don't let Marty swim him in the pool-he loves it toooo much! Phoebe & Marty were hot! Man, very consistent throwing & jumping-wow! It was fun watching others handle my dogs-I may have to rent them out more often :)
Everyone that got the awards-kudos! Very deserving! And, Craig, what a great dinner you put on-thanks a lot!!! Alot of work but very cool, especially the slide show
Lastly, Tony, because of you, I have great friends & great fun with my family. Thank you for bringing the sport to us!
Hope I didn't forget too many people, if so, I apologize.

Marty took some great pictures & a couple videos but we need help figuring out how to get them up on the boards-so help, please!!!

Marilyn, Dunkin & Phoebe

Dunkin: new PB 16' 3"
Phoebe: 3rd place, Pro division & #1 Lab at Cynosports

Congratulations to all the award winners! Well deserved. Special congrats to Octavio and Andy! You'll be jumping with the Big Boys soon! And Marty and Phoebe and Dunkin! You handled everything so beautifully, and you even continued the 'falling in the pool' tradition! Thanks Barb for putting together a great, great raffle! So many people to mention . . . David for cracking me up on the mic; Craig for being so calm and putting together a great banquet; all the volunteers in the tent and at the pools; Tang and Tracy for stopping by our tent so much so we could get to know you better [I will forever remember your reaction, Tracy, after you had that great jump with Kona]; Russell for telling us a great joke about lying sheep; Rhoda for putting up with Randy's little outburst about the Splash Bucks; Vince and Seth for going above and beyond; Sandra and Jim for being who you are and for watching over all of us; Mike and Judy for sharing the tent; Kim and Emmy for being there, even if we saw you fleetingly [but I do have you on film to prove I did see you]; Brooke and Mike for driving all the way there, and driving all the way back -- we missed you after you left; and Mark and Lisa H. for being my heroes.

Thanks to Tony for my totally unexpected award. I'm the one who is grateful for you, for your friendship, and as Mark said at the banquet, your vision and courage.

And, thanks to Randy, for handling our little girl, Tessa, so beautifully. It seems she got a PB every time she hit the dock. It was truly amazing to watch, even if I did have to hide way up in the stands!

Hope to see you all . . . sometime . . . somewhere . . . hopefully in Southern California . . .

And, we missed you, Brother Dave!
