First off Thank you to Sarah for giving me the idea and motivation to teach this to BOcephus.
The boy had the whole thing down pretty good in less than 10 minutes. Granted there is still improvements to be made.
We started off with the tug game to open the door then moved to the retrieve game using a tennis ball in the fridge, Finally replacing the tennis ball with the juice bottle. I think I should use a smaller item because he has to knock it down to get ahold of it!
The hardest part is teaching one a trick with three others anxiously waiting in the next room. They all want in on it!!
I hope I entered the video right.........
When Megan got home from school I had to show the new trick. Yep she was totally impressed he did it PERFECT!!
She went ahead and worked the camera so I could get a better video. So I will put the new one that Megan video'd in.

Yay, I love it.
I especially love the part where you kinda rant, "Get my juice!" I don't know why but the tone in your voice cracked me up. :)
That kid is going to need to learn to take gently otherwise you are going to have an exploded can :) Might I recommend beer cozies (sp?) that helps to prevent can explosions, while they are funny, they are rather messy!!!!
Glad Crash and I motivated you. Wasn't it fun though? Man while I was teaching it to Crash I was in stitches.
The set up in your house is similar to mine in the sense that you can see the fridge open and close but you can't really see what the dog is doing. It is always a little nerve racking sitting on the couch, seeing the fridge open, waitng, waitng, wondering what they are doing :)
As we still don't have the cue down perfect Crash will occasionally go open the fridge, do god only knows what, close it, then come running around the corner. Can't help but laugh.

Sandra,
Were you talking to BrYan or BrIan????:)
Everyone keeps talking about clicker, clicker , clicker, funny thing is I have no Idea what a clicker is.......
I really did not think it would be that easy to train him to do that. I have been thinking about doing it for along time. Sarah gave me that extra push I needed. Along with the ugly gray clouds and rain keeping me home.
Anything you want girl I am there for ya!!! But the last request kinda got me a little scared :)

Yeah you obviously don't need a clicker to teach it but it really helps for refining the behavior, such as don't mouth the object, hold it steady, bring item to hand, etc....

Yes Sandra I knew you were talking to me. I saw Sardo on the site and figured I would try and be a little funny :)
Sarah,
I think we will be sticking with PLASTIC for awhile:)
I am curious what the reaction to a clicker would be like? I think he would think it was either a goody or annoying:)
And yes Sarah it was more than fun it was a BLAST!!
I found myself getting way excited as he figured each part out!!
I could also see the satisfaction he was getting out of it when he noticed what he was doing is what I was asking of him.
We have started the final part of the trick,
After he brings the juice to me I then take a drink and tell him to "put it back" He takes it to the fridge, sets it down, opens the door, grabs the bottle and that's it..............He is not setting it back in yet. Were working on that part. For some reason he doen't want to set it inside....YET that is :)

Bryan, updated video yet?
Dying to see your progress!
I am thinking about doing a little skit were I ask Crash to bring me a beer and he brings me something yuckie, like nat ice, I tell him no thanks and ask for something better, he throws that one away, and gets me something beter out of the fridge.
We are also working on Crash kicking out with his back leg on cue. How sick would that be if he kicked the door closed with his back leg? :) Oh the silly mind of a dog trainer.
If only I didn't have finals coming up and I could make some of these ideas a reality! :(
