My Neighbor recently lost her Chocolate Lab and is looking for a Pup or two. I was wondering if anyone can give me any Breeder info or if you know of anyone in Nevada area or California Area. She is specific about no Backyard breeding and wants parents to be Hip, elbow and Eye Certified.

She was in proccess of waiting for some pups to be born ( the dog was the daughter of her now deceased dog) but the dog only had ONE puppy.

Any help is much appreciated!:) :)

I don't know a ton about labs but I have heard really good things about this breeder. They breed high drive WORKING labs.

This is what I got when I posted a similar thread recently:
http://www.bdarn.com/orion/ (mickey D's breeder)
www.lorkenfarms.com/upcoming_litters.htm
www.cedarranchlabradors.com (Crash's Breeder)
"Research this guy. Scott Sherwin out of AZ. You will see his name everywhere on quality FC, NFC, NAFC titled field line labs going back many years
to present. "- Barb
RockyPointLabradors out of Riverside, CA

Also, pm daftershock (melissa) she knows a lot of lab people.

Charity:
You want to talk about high drive dogs...well MickeyD is from the Candlewood line. His breeder lives in Red Bluff (near Redding, CA) He is a very responsible breeder and has great hunting lines.
Here is his website http://www.bdarn.com/orion/
By the way I understand that Greg Abner does not have any more puppies.
Hope this helps.

Of course I will always chose a rescue over a breeder dog (especially a Lab when they are one of the highest euthanized breeds in the country because of overbreeding); however, if this person is dead set on buying a puppy, I would suggest calling the rescue groups. Many breeders "say" they are responsible, but in reality, they will never take a dog back if it becomes necessary. The rescue groups keep a finger on the pulse of the breeders and who really is in it for the breed, rather than the money. Local rescue groups can be found on www.petfinder.com.
