Belle is six months old on Monday.

Thursday was the first day she experienced deep water because everything has been frozen for the last few months and she acted a little skittish. She got in after my older dog Ralph jumped in, but she need a little coaxing.

Today I took her out by herself and she couldn't get in the water fast enough.

I think she's already getting 12 feet or more.

Boy, did I have a bad scare yesterday.

Was taking Belle out in the hills yesterday to go walking around and look for birds and I had the window rolled down to far and she either jumped out or fell out going about 30mph. As soon as I saw her go, out of the corner of my eye, I swerved hard left hoping I wouldn't run over her and hit the skids. I went running back to her and she wouldn't stand on her hind legs. We flew (about 90mph) to the vet about 20 miles away and everything checked out OK, no fractures or internal injuries, just badly bruised. He kept her for about 5 hours for observation.

Luckily today she seems totally normal, no limping or pain and she's very playful.

I think we both learned, I keep the windows rolled up except maybe 3 or 4 inches and she doesn't put her paws on the window ledge anymore.

I know I should probably use the kennel for transport but she totally has me wrapped around her little claw, will probably start using it much more now.
