Hey all - the waves are starting to get full - we only have 2 hours between waves, so we can only take 36 dogs per wave. We have over 25 already in a few of the waves. Pre-registration is the only way to guarantee your spot in the wave. Once a wave fills, we will take a waiting list onsite and fill spots as they become available.

Also - you must pre-register by the end of this thursday to have your entry passes mailed to you. Passes will be sent out on Saturday.

I just registered my dog for Wave 6 on Saturday the 12th at 4:30 pm. If I get the email confirmation, does this mean my spot has been reserved? I plan to pay on-site as I will be there all three days anyways. I am guessing from the information page that this is okay...can anyone confirm?

I also wanted to give a shout out to all attendees to come and see the awesome Muttley Crew show at 12 noon, 2pm, and 5pm on Saturday. We will be performing three shows each day, and we will probably be the loudest group at the expo :)

See you there!

You are correct. We currently don't take payment in advance. Your spot is reserved by pre-registering. You need to check in at least one hour before your wave and pay and sign our waiver to complete your registration.

Register Now
Competition Waves are filling fast, please pre-register now if you would like to compete in any of the waves at the Orange County Pet Expo. Pre-registration is the only way to guarantee your spot in the wave. Once a wave fills, we will take a waiting list onsite and fill spots as they become available.

Practice Time
Please be aware that Practice time on the dock and in the pool will be limited at this event due to the very full Wave Schedule.

Volunteers
We are looking for a few volunteers to help out w/giving breaks to registration and wrangling. For those who volunteer, you will earn 10 Splash Bucks for every 2 hours you work. You may use your Splash Bucks towards competition waves and merchandise with Splash Dogs. If you are interested please send an email to ursula@splashdogs.com.

Hey Wendy & Urs

Can you give some in sight for any newbies that might want to bring their dogs out to try Splash Dogs? It says on the Pet Expo website that dogs are not allowed so how can we encourage people to bring out their dogs to try our amazing sport? I'm sure some won't want to pre-register but will want to come check it out and try some practice. What entrance do they/we use, etc?

Thanks

Marilyn

Info on getting into the event is available on the registration page at:http://splashdogs.com/events/register/OC04-11.php

If you are coming out to try this for the first time. I suggest you come on Friday! If you come on saturday or sunday, plan on coming right when we open or later in the day on saturday (towards closing). Our waves are very full and there will be very limited practice time (if any) in between waves. The lines will probably be quite long on the weekend and you may only get one or two practice jumps.

It's in the same place it was 2 years ago.

It's in the same place it was 2 years ago.

and that is where? for those of us who have never been :)

The picture on the pet expo page makes it look like it is indoors. Is that the case this year?

Since I wasn't there 2 years ago either, I'm not a ton of help - I just pass on what I'm told :)

The pet Expo has told me it's at "Country Meadows" which I have been unable to find on any of the maps on the website.

We are definitely outside.

Looking at the vendor map, we are at the Canidae location which is to the left of the main gate as you walk in, outside building 12.

Not sure if this helps anyone!

I assume that the people at the gates will be able to point you in the right direction.

If you enter from the Main Gate off of Fairview Drive it will be to your left. The fairgrounds can be confusing - there are multiple parking lots and entrances. Parking lot B and the Blue Gate are the most conveniently located to the venue. Your biggest challenge will be unloading your gear - you may have to carry it a bit especially if you arrive later in the day.

The OC Pet Expo is a major event and expects as many as 30,000 visitors each day - so add some travel time for the traffic and remember to bring a healthy dose of patience. On the flip side you will have a blast and will be able to buy your pups a ton of stuff you didn't know that they needed. Please bring a crate for your dog or an extra set of hands if you plan on shopping at the Expo (your dog will expect you to) - they try and discourage you from wandering the marketplace with your pet dog. Keep in mind that there will be 100's of adoptable dogs in the adoption area as well as breed club representatives in the marketplace buildings.

Our chessie rescue booth will be located outside the adoption tent near building 8. Stop by and say Hello.
