Oh goodness, if I can wipe away the tears from the love in these comments, I would make you laugh when I tell you I don't know about this nor do I know what it means!

Too funny. Dega has brought me some and maybe the ONLY award I will get in my life, coming from such amazing and loving people.........and I don't even know what it represents!

Must be something to do w/inspiration. Ms. Talla Dega sure has lots of that for all of us here and gone........those to come and those to go.

Gianna, here is what the Gabe Award is per Urs:

2009 Gabe Sportsmanship Award:The handler (and his/her dog) who showed the best sportsmanship and was an ambassador for the sport all year. Todd Bobula and Gabe were a team that have been a part of dock jumping since the beginning. Todd and the sport were saddened to lose Gabe last year, so we decided to remember him through this award.

You are too funny....

You and Dega have provided inspiration to many. I believe this is the third time this award has been given. Of course the first year Todd and Gabe won the award and I believe Craig and Stanley won it last year. Once again this award goes to someone that really deserves it. Has the best interest of the sport in her heart and most importantly has the best interest of her pup comes first. To know that you and Dega were out hunting this weekend even makes this award better.....Dega and you were doing what you love!!

Oh sorry big guy I have to correct you. Todd never won the award the first year it was awarded to Ursula. Yes, this award was created for the memory of the team, Gabe & Todd who always went out of his way to help new handlers!

The accomplishments, enthusiasm, team spirit, and the equitable way you promote the sport of Dock Diving are all wrapped up in the Gabe Award you received. Most deserving is an understatement for Gianna and how she represents the sport. Congratulations on a “job well done” and please accept my apologies for not being able to attend the festivities and pass the torch from one Gabe to another.
