We would like to ask for your help in keeping our database accurate! Our database is used to track event results, titles, rankings, records, etc. Each handler and each dog has a record in our database. When you compete with us, your results are tracked by that record in the database.
What do we need you to do? When you pre-register online, we need you to use your name, your city, your state and your dog's name exactly as it exists in our database. Additionally we need you to specify the dog's owner as we have it in our records if your dog is handled by multiple people.
Why?
If you modify these fields at all, they system can't match your existing record and it creates a new record for you and then your results will be split across multiple records in our database. This means that your titles, rankings, etc will not be correct.
For example:
If you enter your name as: Joe Smith for one event, and Joseph Smith for another event, you will be seen as 2 different people in the database.
If you enter your city as: San Francisco for one event and SF for another, you will be seen as 2 different people in the database.
If you enter your dog's name in as: Twiztid for one event and Twiz for another, your dog will be seen as 2 different dogs in the database.
If you include you dog's titles in your dog's name for one event and not another, your dog will be seen as 2 different dogs in the database
Notes on the dog's owner: This is simply a way for us to track that a dog is the same dog even if handled by multiple people. This allows us to have the registration program only have the dog appear once in the rankings/bubble at an event. It is not used for any other purpose, so don't worry about who really is the dog's owner.
How do I tell what name, city, dog name, owner Splash Dogs is using for my dog? You can check the name, city, and dog name, simply by viewing the results of any event you have competed in (
