The wonderful people we've been talking to this week came to meet Lady yesterday and fell in love with her as we knew they would. The couple lives in Carmel just 4 blocks from dog beach so this very lucky dog is going to have a very fun life! They have named her Gracie and are looking forward to having a companion for walking all around dog-friendly Carmel (the wife is retired so Gracie will rarely be alone). The photo is of Gracie's first trip to the beach with her new dad and mom (Troy with Torri and Hannah on the right as we helped Gracie to settle in).
Thanks again for all the support and encouragement! It's a bit empty at our house tonight but we're so very happy for this ideal match that it makes up for any sadness. So one less Lab coming with us to the Sacramento event tomorrow -- see you there!
P.S. Urs, per our promise in Monterey -- Gracie weighed in at 64 lbs this morning so a total of 6 lbs lost in 4 weeks -- you can even see her waist now! Just send the fat ones to the Harrell bootcamp for dogs! Fortunately, the active/outdoors couple is committed to taking the rest of her weight off.
