Hi my SplashDog friends!
I've been busy so haven't been on the boards much but really looking forward to the Capitola event. What's been keeping me busy is Lab Rescue (Sandra, look what you started!). After I began volunteering with fostering for Lab Rescue, they found out I manage websites for a living so I redesigned their site and have been managing it. Just launched a logo merchandise store as well!
Getting involved with rescue has made me so mad about the number of people who casually abandon their dogs when no longer convenient. But I've been determined to show on our website that some of the dogs have happy endings and not just the sad one in the too-common story below which I think I'll add to our site. I've been soliciting the stories of dogs adopted from LabRescue -- if you want some happy tears, read
http://www.labrescue.org/testimonials.html.
Rescue work is making a difference and is needed now more than ever with the state budget cuts that have reduced the hold time. All the rescue groups need more fosters so can save more dogs from euthanasia -- please consider helping! LabRescue's volunteer info is at
