Question New kid at the splash

I want to bring my Aussie, Charlie, to the Sonoma county fair. It will be our first splash. How many spashes should I sign up for? Do I really need a crate. He has not been in one for a long time. Can't I go and come from the park?

Hi Kathy,

I know I could never go to an event without a crate for my crew. There will be a lot of activity and it makes things much easier.

It's up to you how many times you would like to jump. Is this your first time trying this or just your first event??

I would suggest getting to the earliest time possible as it is usually less crowded on a week day.

Have fun !!

Hi Kathy, welcome!

It really depends on you and Charlie. I would suggest that if he's not a regular competitor in other dog sports, you sign up for the practice time and possibly one splash. That way his mind and body can stay fresh

I highly suggest crates. They give the dog a safe place to rest and refresh and it allows you to do things like hang out with folks and got to the bathroom. Plus if Charlie really likes dock diving, you could find yourself holding the leash of a barking or lunging fool!

You mean from the main fair entrance? nope! Check out the SR event in the upcoming events tab and it will explain how to get in and out. Most fairs don't want us and our dogs in the main fair.
