I remember when Randy told me the story of how Ku'ua came to be in your home and your hearts. It's amazing the message each dog can bring to our lives!

Every time it rains, I am always reminded of the love and blessings that come with it--thank you for that!

Default Love and prayers Ka'ua and her family

Randy and Mary,

Tang, Kona, Chase and I's hearts go out to you. Having just lost our 14 year old Wooly recently, Ka'ua's story brought tears to my eyes. She is a very strong, resilient girl and has lots of dock jumping left in her future, of that I am certain. Take care of that little girl and please keep us posted. You'll be in our thoughts!

love,

The Chessie Clan

Default KA'UA

MORE FROM RANDY, MARY (Splasdogs First Hall of Famers) regarding Kaua

Hi everyone,

Ka'ua is in recovery tonight and resting comfortably. My sister and Dr.
Severson had her in surgery for almost 4 hours.

The tumor on her aorta is very large and invasive. Both of her doctors determined that it was inoperable. Although this is grave news, they did perform the pericardial skirt, which will make her more comfortable for the rest of her days.

The next 24 to 48 hours are very critical to her recovery and we continue to hope and pray for her. Whatever time we have with Ka'ua we are truly blessed and thankful for.

This little Staffie came to us beaten and abused, but taught us the meaning of unconditional love. She introduced us to the world of doggy daycare, agility and dock jumping. More importantly, through Ka'ua we met you. We treasure your love and friendships. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Aloha pumehana,
Randy, Mary & Ka'ua

I am so sorry, It is hard to find words to say.

It is getting ready to rain. I will be thinking of you and Ka'ua as the rain comes down.

Many prayers going out to Ka'ua

I am so very sorry about the news of the tumor. But, I am so very glad that she got to share her life with such wonderful owners who would do anything for her. Take care and I will be thinking of you.

Default UPDATE ON KA'UA

Folks Update. If u desire the pictures send an email to Greg@splashdogs.com and I will forward.
Keep her in your prayers

Hi everyone,

Was able to visit with Ka'ua this afternoon. She seems to be progressing.
Dr. Severson will remove her chest tube either later today or tomorrow. As of 2pm (HST), there was very little air coming out of the tubes, its a good sign.

You can tell that she is in pain, but hearing and seeing familiar faces seemed to calm her a bit. We know it is still a long road to recovery, but this little girl sure is strong and everyone is amazed at her strength.
Ka'ua was able to walk to the visitation room this afternoon, only 24 hours after surgery.

She doesn't want to eat yet, but we'll be patient. Attached are a few pictures of Ka'ua with her soft body cast. They ran out of pink, so my sister chose baby blue!

We would like to thank you again for your continued prayers and good thoughts. It may seem odd, but before she went into surgery, Randy and I sat with her as I read the emails to Ka'ua, and when I sat with her today, I let her know of all the continued well wishes and gave her lots of kisses and little hugs from all of you.

Mahalo friends and family, we miss you and send lots of love from the Hawaiian Islands. Hugs to you and your best friends from Ka'ua and the Pascuas.

Aloha pumehana,
Randy, Mary & Ka'ua
