I for one would love to get my dog, Jaxon involved in some regular dock diving. I know for a fact the Triple Crown Dog Academy in Hutto, TX has a LONG, Astroturf covered dock, equipped with a back wall with measurements( it’s a small pond in their back acreage). We were visited the Humane Society's Pet Fest (held at Triple Crown) this past weekend and discovered Jaxon’s natural obsession with the sport. Jaxon, my 2 years old Flat-coated retriever was consistently jumping 16ft. Is this anything to be proud of on our first day? I’m not really sure what is considered fair for a first time out, I have only heard about National Champion lengths.

Wink Be Proud

You should definitely be proud!
1. Your dog jumped off the dock!
2. Your dog wanted to do it again.

This sport is an obsession with both dogs and their people who jump in all different categories. The most important is to have fun with your dog and those around ya.

My dog jumped well the first 2 times and then went downward. It took work to get her where she is today but I was 90% sure she had the potential. Some new dogs come out and win events and some jump and the game dawns on them down the road.

Always be proud.

My Choco jumped his best 17'11" 3 years ago. We now jump 12'-14' on good days and I still love it! It is always amazing to watch these babies fly. I am proud of my Choco everytime he jumps, or doesn't. (has that ever happened?)

Anyway, great to hear you had a great 1st time out and anytime we practice here in the dfw area you are more than welcome to come on up!

Default Petfest 2008

Triple Crown is hosting their annual Petfest this weekend, and will have open dock most of the day.
