Default Reno was a Blast!

Hi everyone:
Jim & I got back last night and WOW what a great time we had! What an event Randy & Mary put on...spectacular is the only word that comes to mind! Jim tried his new technique...leaving the bumper at the end of the dock and then putting MickeyD on a sit/stay, well that worked for awhile but then you all know MickeyD!!! I keep thinking someday!
I still am very proud of him, he came in 4th in the Pro finals. Dave & Salix ripped off a 25' (not once but twice) WAY TO GO DAVE!!! Then my little Urs & Gunner had a 23+ for second, followed by Todd & Gabe with a 22+ then MickeyD with a 22'. MickeyD only escaped 2x this weekend! , but was eventually captured!
Bart: It was great seeing you and your very, very, very special guest! Can I say who it was???? Okay it was Amanda!
Marilyn & Phoebe: We dedicated a jump to you on Friday and I am very happy to say MickeyD did sit/stay on that jump! Hope your both feeling better.
I am sure there were a lot of personal best recorded over this event, please post them I would love to see those numbers.
Hope to see everyone in Auburn.

We were SO proud of him! We can't wait for Auburn, hope as many people as possible can make it, I know it's going to be great!!

I have to agree 100% with Sandra, Reno was a blast!! One of the best events I've been to and I'll tell you, I think very highly of all Splash Dog events!!!!

First, thanks to Sandra and Jim for letting me and my little Amanda camp with them under their canopy, and with the company of Bart & Amanda and David & Kristy it was really nice to spend down time talking with everyone.

Thank you to everyone who made my daughter Amanda feel so comfortable and excited about competing this weekend! She was stoked this morning getting her ribbons ready to show to all of her friends. A HUGE THANK YOU to Todd and Mary for fishing her out of the pool when she accidentally fell in. Poor Buddy (the golden she was jumping) didn't want to jump anymore and just leaned against her and SPLASH!!! One good thing, is it didn't change her outlook on dock jumping, she's excited for Auburn! Becky - thanks for entertaining her during down times of jumping!

As for me, well, we started the weekend a little ruff, as I couldn't figure out what the heck was going on with my Gunnerman...Todd jumped him in a practice and found the issue, immediately after this quick fix, Gunner was back to flying...he pulled a couple of 22's, 23's, 24's and yes, ONE 25 footer!!!! This was a new PB for Gunner. I was sooo proud!!! Todd - THANK YOU!!!!

There were so many Jr. Handlers this weekend! It was awesome!

An awesome job to everyone who helped put on this event! H3D and Splash Dogs - you guys ROCK!!!!

HI everyone:

Wow! It sounds like a great time-wish we could have been there. I am dying to get up there. Thanks, Sandra & Jim for dedicating a jump for me & Phoebe- I'm glad he stayed But how did he escape??

congrats to all of you & your PB's- amazing!

Hoefully we will be up there for Auburn- Phoebe seems much better, I am getting there but still hurts to go up & down stairs.

Tony, you need more events in the middle of the state- that would be so much easier to accomplish. I'd love to be there for every event! You are all the best! That goes for the competiters, too.

Take care

Marilyn:
MickeyD just finds opportunities. Becky jumped him and while she was trying to get him off the dock he escaped. Then Jim had him in the crate and did not lock the zipper so he opened and did his routine! He is so funny, I don't think he will ever change But we still love him  Glad to hear you are better! I plan on seeing you in Auburn.

Even though it was a quick stop--it was great to stop by the event and see people and watch the dogs jumping!

Randy and Mary and the H3D gang and the SplashDogs crew were doing a great job! Thanks for the goodie bags too! Sarge and Hope will love them!

Urs--your Amanda was the coolest! WOW--she is SO proud of her ribbons! It's always great to see the junior handlers coming out and competing! Just think of what a self-confidence builder that is for them! Can't wait to see more of her competing in the future!

I didn't get to see Tracy's Mustang jump--but I was thrilled with his improvement! That's what it's all about!

Too bad that new "technique" didn't work all weekend with MickeyD. That was a pretty cool idea too! So was Todd's for trying to get Gabe to find the end of the dock! Personally--I love all that tweaking that goes on to try to find a way to help the dogs get a better performance!

Congrats to all the dogs and handlers!
I can't wait to get Sarge up on the dock at some of those West Coast events!

Amanda

Hey Amanda,

Yeah, I got a hoot out of my little Amanda. She is ready to jump again, even after falling in. Who knows, I may let her do some jumping with my Gunnerman in Auburn. The excitement from the ribbons has not yet worn off.

Can't wait to see you, Sarge and Hope on the west coast very soon .

Default Reno was great I wish I had had the energy for Auburn

Coco had some of his best jumps in Reno.
We went on to New York for the Bull-yimpics.
Coco did great dispite the tropical storm that hit about the same time we arrived.
Coco competed in Dock diving Fri., Sat. and Sun.
He seems to have found his jumping mark.
He had several jumps at 16 + and 17 +, one at 17.5, Hurray
He took three Gold Medals in Dock Diving
and two Bronze in Agility.
We had a blast with all the other Bullies there.
PBS did some filming for a documentary during the show.
They are suppose to notify us when it airs.
It was so exciting.
We had two scary moments in the spring fed pond though.
They used a rope with markers on it for measuring.
Coco got hung up on it twice.
The first time the rangler jumped in and freed him from the line.
The second time Coco had actually grabbed the rope and the ball in the same bite. A bystander tried to jump in and pull him off the rope, but Coco would not release his grip on the ball let alone the rope. 'The ball is all', even when your sinking, leave it to stubburn bully. We ended up undoing the anchor rope and he swam both to the shore.
Shortly after that he jumped his longest jump, I guess the adenalin was really pumping.

I'm trying to get free for the Medera show.
Hope to see you all there.
Nancy & Coco
