DogSport has been a great magazine and as of 2009 is now under new management and editorship. They've got great plans for the future and look to expand their coverage of dog sports to include much more than Agility. I'm really excited about it and look forward to upcoming issues.

If you get the magazine let Joyce and Rachel (the new editors) know how much you like it and put in a good word for "SPLASH DOG" coverage :-) I'm trying to do my part--MaxDogPhotos has the current cover shot (with more inside) and the cover shot for the Mar/April issue as well. And if rumor is correct, I believe Ursula has an article to be included in the Mar/Apr issue, too.

This is an international magazine and I think a great opportunity to display and spread our enthusiasm for our Splash Dogs family. We have a lot to share and a lot to be proud of---and I really think that this is going to be one of our best years ever.

It's a great opportunity all around for dog sports! Marty also has some shots in DogSport Magazine's Jan/Feb issue. Howie - Thanks for hooking me up with them, this is great exposure for the sport and Splash Dogs.

I've already turned in Mar/Apr's article and am working on May/Jun's ideas...

Default Where to find it

Can the magazine be purchased at a store or is it only available by subscription?

I've bought it in Barnes & Noble before I had my own subscription. Maybe check Borders, too. You can always subscribe directly through DogSport, too.

I think I need to go and get my first issue. Can't wait to read your article, Ursula. I may even need to get a subscription.

I checked Border's, and they didn't have it. I may have to break down and subscribe! I hope they process the paperwork fast enough so I can get this issue!

I just saw the new issue. A friend of mine thought she recognized the dog in the life jacket.
HAH!!! It was mine! Woo Hoo and there is even a blurb about us.

We had tons of fun at the Cynosport Games, we love this game now

It still blows me away that Blink can jump as far as he did at Cyno but would sink to bottom if he didn't have his life jacket. Congrats on the DogSport article. Hope to see you out there some more in the coming year. Border Collies Rock

Well I hope he wouldn't sink to the bottom ... but he has a lead-butt and that makes him swim vertically up but not horizontally. He used to panic in the water flapping his front legs to stay afloat but really not go anywhere.
Life jacket helped a lot and he loves the water. I'd like it to stay that way

Maybe this summer we'll make a point to go out take swimming lessons. Obviously it would be great if he could figure out how to swim. I didn't think he was going to jump anywhere near that far or really love the game so much.
I guess he found his niche, so I suppose we'll get out to some reservoirs around here this summer and go practice the doggie paddle

It was great to have met you and Nevada (our bc role model) last year at Cynosport, hope to see lots of you back this year too!
