Did you try PetFinder.com? You can quickly look-up all the rescue organizations in a geography with their contact info.

I've always just thought PetFinder was more for people in search of dogs/pups. Not really a rescue located, but makes sence. I didn't ever concider PetFinders, I will check it out. Thank you for the great Idea :-) I've been able to get a list of a few rescues in my area, but having no luck. Some of the ones I spoke with said there was not really anyone to help out at an adoption event, or to bring any rescue dogs to an adoption event. Few others I contacted said they would come out, but not with any dogs/puppies. They'll bring pictures & listings of adoptible dogs/puppies in their rescue. Some of the dogs could be down in Fresno, or even Barstow. One said they have some foster dogs in OR & NV. Depends on who their Rescue network (via-internet) reaches out to. Then the grayhound rescue does do it, for one day, once a month. Normally it is the last Saturday of the month. Only dogs there are their personal pets, a few are retired track dogs, but they found there forever home & humans. The ones still searching are located down south in San Diego. Then there are rescues who do not have the 503(c), but they have the other that is for profit. Or for one reason or another they don't have anything, they are private people, who rescues & rehome unwanted pets. A few months back, when I first started looking for a group to come out, I thought how simple, a few rescues would jump on oppurtunity to do this, exposer for their dogs/puppies, and better the chances to be adopted by their forever home. A safe, friendly, in-door location, temputure controled, provided free of charge. In return from the rescue is have a 503(c) & bring dogs/puppies in need of homes.
