Thanks for letting me practice with my new camera at this event. I think I'm finally getting the hang of it. I took over 500 pictures (mostly because by the time my finger came off the shutter button, it had already taken 10+ pictures).
I have gone through and tried to edit out those that weren't great and finally have posted them. The website is: http://splashdogslacountyfairweek2.shutterfly.com/ If anyone wants any of the pictures, just shoot me a private message with an email and the picture number(s).

Tracy - Great Photos. You captured the really fun feeling of this event.
Chase & I took our first ever dog jump in January 2005 at a Splashdogs event in Southern California when Chase was just about to turn 5 years old. In the subsequent almost 5 years since that first day, Chase & I have had the pleasure of going to about 40 or so different dog jumping events throughout the Southern California and Phoenix area. Without a doubt, this event at the LA Pomona Fair has been the very BEST ONE! The pool location, the fair atmosphere, the fans, the crew, and the participants have all been fantastic. I give a lot of credit to the participants who truly are embracing the Splashdogs' motto to "HAVE FUN". Whether they are jumping their own dogs, enthusiastically cheering on their fellow competitors, jumping into the pool after personal bests (or just to get cool in the 100 degree heat), or kicking back and relaxing in the camp like atmosphere, people have been enjoying every minute of this experience. But, this memorable experience would not have been possible without the SUPERB CREW! It is not easy to run an event for 4 1/2 straight weeks. It can be exhausting and there are many obstacles and requirements involved due to the length of the event and also that it takes place within the confines of the fairgrounds. Couple that with consistent heat of 90-100 degree days every single day, and this would have been too much for most people. But, this Splashdogs crew has risen to the occasion each and every day and created such a fun, welcoming, have-a-good-time, family environment these last few weeks, that a number of people have begun skipping work to come back again and again. One new junior handler rushes home from school each day and begs his father to get him to the pool in time for the 3:30pm wave. Thank you so much to Ursula, Ali, Vit & Chris for putting on such a remarkable event and making this all possible. It is a time I will never forget. Broooke & Chase |

Brooke, I echo your sentiments exactly. Despite the heat, this is has been a great event. And that crew........SERIOUSLY! 4 weeks in and almost 100 in the shade yesterday and Urs was still out there with as much enthusiasm as day 1!
Candis, I'm glad you enjoyed the pictures. Now I know how Howie feels; it's pretty cool capturing these awesome moments of people with their dogs. Week 4 to come....over 1000 pictures but was able to reduce the number to about 750. But uploading is taking some time. And still one more day of the weekend.
