Hate to dissappoint you...but unless this is something new for this year, in years past, they have kept the winners a secret until the actual awards dinner.
JJ and the 6pack
PS-thanks to everyone who might of voted for my super veteran dog (at 14 perhaps they should have a 2nd division of veterans)

Talking Wow!

I haven’t been on the message board for a while so, unfortunately, I didn’t get to vote either. How nice to be nominated for most enthusiastic team! I thought, hmmmm…..is it because I look like Helen Parr (Elastigirl) holding my 90 lb. dog – who turns into Secretariat when she sees the pool? Is it because I get up on that dock even though my throws are so bad it’s beyond embarrassing? Or, is it because I’m a klutz. I mean, FALLING in the pool – TWICE in one event and still going up on the dock again – well maybe that’s it, eh? I don’t know, maybe if there was a category for “perseverance”…. HA!

Whatever, I didn’t think that many people even knew who we were! So, thank you! When people say it’s an honor to be nominated, it’s TRUE!

Thanks to all you guys. For this sport, your commitment, the fun, the camaraderie, this honor and to all of you who have been so great to Tess and me at this time. Your kindness and advice is appreciated more than words could ever express. She has her surgery this month and we’ll know the prognosis from there. I truly believe that we’ll be back!

GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE WHO WAS NOMINATED!

Hello Barbara, my pool partner! I was at the fair when you had your graceful tip into the pool. Congrats on your nominations. And good luck on surgery and a speedy recovery!

Default Ahhhh.....

.....YES! Erika! My pool partner! You fell in too that day! I guess it was "official klutz" day and we were the top two participants! HEY! We just wanted to celebrate the day "properly," right? Yeah, that's it! Thank you for helping me get my hair under control so I could at least avoid THAT embarrassment. I mean if it wasn't for you I would've looked like Clarence Williams III (Linc Hayes) from the Mod Squad the next time I went up there! HAHAHAHA!

Y'know, after I submitted my message, I thought of a much better way to describe my throws:

My throws are so bad the spectators have to take cover! HAHAHA!

Thanks for the well wishes, my "partner in brine!" I'll be happy when the surgery is over and Tess is home. This...is a bitch. :-(

Hope all is well with you. Thanks so much for your kindness! Hope to see you again...SOON!

While I would love to take credit for some of the dogs I have jumped, I can't. The handler is a only a small part of the equation. I give the owners of the dogs the credit for the training and conditioning they have done to get their dog to understand what needs to be done and to physically be in shape to get those big jumps. Once a dog understands how to use their speed to properly launch off the dock which requires both ,(good speed and good launch angle) is when a handler makes a difference with the throw and sometimes its not the throw. Some dogs do better being handled by others as owners sometimes put alot of pressure on their dogs and themselves with the training and I see it a lot on the dock after a jump the dissapointment in an owners face when their dog doesn't do so well and I'm guilty of that as well. So with that said,I do not make miracles happen, but if you give me a dog with the proper training, I will do my best to bring out the best in that dog.

I've had many people ask me to hold a training session on understanding the throw and if you think you can get enough people together and I'm sure Urs is willing to help than I would be glad to make a trip.

Brian

Results for the awards wont be announced until the awards dinner at Cyno...ahhh....

But Rhonna - Bri and I will make this throwing seminar happen. We can chat about format - maybe a one day seminar for the experienced dock jumper where we can look at improving performance, handling, conditioning, throwing.

Wow! I am all for a throwing, conditioning, handling, improving performance seminar. Sounds great to me, Ladies. Say the word, Nick and I will be there.

So looking forward to seeing everyone in Capitola. We can't wait!

I just had eye surgery last week (long story...) - so hoping my tossing aim will be improved!
